CHAPTER 74 (C). EK PAL KE LIYE HI SAHI! PART II

Day - 5 Tuesday

Sheeshmahal

Maan and Geet were pulled out of their dream world as the song ended and people around started clapping. Maan and Geet jumped apart at the sudden applause. Maan glared around while Geet fumbled with the pallu of her Saree. She looked at Maan shyly only for Maan to glare at Geet and stalked away. Geet huffed as she glared back at Maan. Yeh Mr. Khurana! Kitne ziddi hain! Apne dil ki baat sunte kyun nahi? She stomped her foot on the floor and looked up. Hey Babaji! This is not fair! Yeh theek nahi hai! Bilkul theek nahi hai! She narrowed her eyes at Maan's retreating back, turned around and stormed away.

While Maan and Geet sprang apart when the song ended, Khushi was looking tearfully at Arnav and Lavanya as they ended their dance. She felt few tears drop from her eyes and she wiped them away, not wanting others to see her tears. Feeling pain at seeing her Arnav with her own sister, she turned around and walked off to the balcony wanting to cry in solitude. What Khushi did not know was that Arnav may have danced with Lavanya, but his eyes were on Khushi, Arnav may have talked and laughed with Lavanya but his body and soul yearned to have Khushi in his arms. He wanted to dance with Khushi in front of everybody. He wanted to tell the whole world that Khushi was his. But it seemed Khushi wanted him to work hard to win her hand. Fine then! He will work hard! He will use every tactic he had to make Khushi his. His eyes narrowed as Khushi walked away to the balcony. He excused himself and marched off to the bar to wait for few minutes. He could have followed Khushi right away but that would have been suspicious. So he opted to stand by the bar for few minutes before heading towards the balcony.

The balcony was shielded with curtains and Arnav was sure no one could notice Khushi and Arnav there as the lights dimmed whenever the songs were played. He waited for the next song to start and he did not have to wait long as all around him, there were shouts of Encore'. Soon the announcer announced that there will be an encore but this time a male singer will sing the song. As everyone clapped and cheered, Arnav sneaked off to the balcony right opposite to the band playing and near the main door.

As Arnav pushed the curtains and entered the balcony he looked around. The balcony overlooked the gardens of Sheeshmahal and was big enough to have 20 guests there. But tonight there was no one except Khushi who was standing by the parapet with her face in her hands. As Arnav walked a few steps ahead, he saw her shoulders shake and he swallowed. She was crying. She was crying because of him. He took a deep breath and took few more steps. As he crossed the half of the balcony, Khushi as if sensing him, turned around. The moment her eyes fell on him, she looked down and walked towards the curtains separating the balcony from the main hall.

As a tearful Khushi passed by Arnav, he whispered, "Khushi!" Before he could say something, the music began in the main hall. When Khushi's eyes fell on him, words got lost in his mouth and unable to say his mind, he raised his hand in front of her. Her eyes fell on his hand and then back at his face. Arnav took a deep breath and whispered, "Dance!" When Khushi did not take his hand, he whispered again, "Sirf ek pal! Please!", referring to the song which was about to play making Khushi smile sadly but with tears falling down her cheeks. As the guitar played in the background, Arnav and Khushi took a step ahead. Soon a male voice crooned in the main hall.

Ek Pal Ke Liye Hi Sahi

Arnav slipped his hand around her waist and pulled her into a dance position.

Ghadiyaan Humko Mili

Makhmali Pyaar Ki

They swayed softly to the song.

Iss Ek Pal Ko Jee Lein Zara

He twirled her around once and pulled her close.

Yeh Lamhein Phir Mile Na Mile

She slowly placed her head on his shoulder.

Kho Jaane De Sabhi

Dooriyaan Faaslein

He placed a kiss on her hair.

Aa Dil Mila Le Aur Paas Aa

Khushi pulled away and looked at Arnav sadly.

She took few steps back and shook her head.

Arnav shook his head with a pleading expression on his face.

She turned to walk away.

Phir Ho Na Jaaye Seher

But she felt something tug her pallu.

She turned to see Arnav holding her Saree pallu with pain on his face.

She took few steps towards him.

She placed her hand on his shoulder and raising her other hand for him to hold.

He smiled sadly and they slowly swayed to the song.

She pulled away and turned around unable to face him anymore.

She closed her eyes and they hugged each other tightly.

She pulled away as the song ended and gave him one tearful look and ran off from there leaving behind a devastated Arnav. His expression was of pain and longing but in the next few seconds he rearranged his expression into determination and glared at the way Khushi had taken off. Jo karna hai karlo Khushi! I will do anything and everything to make you mine.

"This is not working!", Arnav huffed as he stared at Geet.

Arnav was sitting in Geet's room on Geet's bed while Geet sat in front of her dressing mirror removing her make-up and jewelries.

She looked at him through mirror curiously.

"This jealousy idea is not working!", Arnav reiterated.

"I know!", Geet nodded as she turned to look at Arnav with sad face, "Maan apne dil ki nahi dimaag ki sun raha hai!"

Arnav glared at her, "GEET! Tumhein apne aur Maan ki padi hai! Yahaan meri aur Khushi ki love story ka the end hone aa raha hai!"

Geet's jaw dropped open, "Haa! Hey Babaji! Dekha! Dekha aapne?"

Arnav rolled his eyes at her antics and Geet, seeing his action, got up from her seat and stormed over to him.

"AB! I am serious here! Yahaan aap akele iss problem mein nahi ho? Main bhi usi naiyya mein hoon jis mein aap ho! Mujhe bhi mere pyaar ka dil jeetna hai! Samjhe!", Geet scolded Arnav and sat right beside him sniffling softly.

Arnav gave her a sarcastic smile, "Oh really?"

Geet looked at him with a sad pout on her face and Arnav continued, "Mujhe nahi pata tha ki teen din mein tumhaari bhi shaadi hai? Aur mujhe toh yeh bhi nahi pata tha ki jis se shaadi hai woh Maan ka cousin bhai hai? Aur mujhe toh yeh bilkul bhi nahi pata tha ki Maan teen din mein tumhaara devar banne waala hai?"

Geet opened her mouth to retort but shut it again as she realised that Arnav's problem was definitely biger than hers.

Arnav smiled in a fake manner, "Exactly! My problem is bigger than yours! You have lots of time in the world to win over your love and I don't! I barely have three days!" Arnav almost shouted the last few words.

Geet looked down contritely, "Sorry AB!"

Arnav softened at her words and he put his hand on her shoulder hugging her sideways, "Don't worry! Once I marry Khushi, main tumhaari bhi problems solve kardunga!"

Geet chuckled and shook her head trying to remove the melancholy from her head. She stood up and looked at Arnav with cheerfulness, "You don't worry AB! We two are the geniuses of the family! We will solve this problem. Aur humaare saath toh Babaji aur Devi Maiyya bhi hai!"

Arnav nodded and smiled but then he narrowed his eyes as an idea entered his head.

"Dev Maiyya!", he whispered.

Geet, who was trying to think of her plan, looked at Arnav in surprise, "Huh?"

Arnav looked up at her and Geet saw hope in his eyes.

"Khushi blindly believes in Devi Maiyya, right?", Arnav spoke with excitement in his voice.

Geet nodded eagerly to know what was going in his mind.

"Agar Devi Maiyya hi use yeh bataane ki koshish kare ki meri shaadi galat insaan se ho rahi hai toh?", Arnav gave her a smirk.

Geet frowned for a second, "Par Devi Maiyya kaise ishaara degi...", she trailed off as her eyes widened. She looked at Arnav with the same excitement in her eyes that was on Arnav's face.

"AB! You are genius!", Geet squealed as she hugged a grinning Arnav.

As they pulled apart, Geet spoke up, "Toh kal se Mission DMKI shuru!"

Arnav nodded and then frowned, "DMKI?"

Geet looked at him as if he was a small child, "Devi Maiyya Ka Ishaara, AB! Do keep up, Bro! Kitne slow ho! And you are supposed to be a genius!" Geet huffed and walked away towards the garden thinking about how to execute the idea while Arnav looked at her with jaw dropped open. Did she just? Was I just?

"Hey Motor Mouth! Come back here!", Arnav hollered as Geet walked away giggling.

"Hey! You cannot just call me idiot and walk away. Come back! MOTOR MOUTH..."

But the wait was worth it

As for khushi that is important
