Okay so I'm here for my review.Contestants' entry - I feel that was fake. There's no way they would get a text challenging them and they would pick up and leave from wherever they were. I wouldn't. But still it was something different to see.
Akshay's entry - I bow down to you man! Which I always do anyways, but still that was a stupendous entry. I think someone said it was fly boating. Not sure what that is, but it looked cool and up to Akshay's standard. He's the true Boss and Khiladi both in one!
Contestants' intro - I like that they gave the intro to Akshay and not giving an AV for each contestant. That was a different thing. Usually we see an AV of each contestant or we learn about them through the articles. That's it.
Khufiya camera - I don't see anything hidden about it, but if they want some interaction between Akshay and the audience so be it.
First dare - I like it! Not too easy, but not too hard either. It's like a warm-up to the real deal that these guys will face over the weeks.
Akshay's "assistants" - The idea of including two professionals, one a choreographer and the other an action director, is commendable. It lets audience have the feeling that this is all actually being conducted under expert supervision because now you've seen the "heads" of the experts. The addition is that they are judging as well.
Amar's performance - Man, he's mad, but I like it! (NOM fans. I meant it in a good way.) His performance was touching, but blindfolded? That takes guts man! It takes guts. Hats off. It's the first time I'm watching him, but I loved it. And the way he rolled off at the end. I thought he had actually fallen, but it was part of his act. Akshay believes he should get both greens and he got them. Yep he deserved them totally. And Akshay was proud of him. When he says it he means it.
Scarlett's performance - No offense meant but I don't get why she needed Akshay up there. Yes it's scary, but I found it to be a way of trying to use the sympathy card that's all. Her performance was average. I felt her moves were quite choppy like she was still practicing or something. She got a green from both. I kind of expected that. It's the first episode. I doubt the judges will give out any reds.
Mayuresh's performance - Now I recognize him! He was in ABCD. He's a good dancer. And in true tribute to the movie, he danced to a mixture of Shambu Sutaya and Sadda Dil Vi Tu from the movie. The act was really good, but the best part was how he ended. He went to the absolute edge and hung off it. Too good! The thing Akshay pointed out about the coconut was surprising. I didn't notice, which is a great move! And he gets 2 greens as well. Well deserved. And then Akshay makes him do a handstand on that box. Good one.
Sayantani's performance - She was the last person I would have expected to see here, but it was a nice surprise. She has some rough moves that look like she has a hard time dancing, but overall she did well. I just feel that she is a bit choppy as well. I didn't see the dare at all in her performance like Akshay and I get proven wrong when she gets the first red card. Yep she deserved that. Akshay explained it very well how she was wrong and why she got the red card. It also gives the contestants a reality check.
Teasing - Special mention to the fun and teasing that happened between acts. Akshay is a pro at this and he really gets the contestants involved as well. Now Amar will be teased whenever he hugs the females and Mayuresh is now the new pole dancing qu...err king. 😆
My Overall Rating: A must watch show. The mixture of dance and stunts is unique and I'm seeing it for the first time at least. The 4 contestants who performed today also gave a good feel of what we can see in the future though the 2 females failed to impress me today. Looking forward to some more great performances!
