Ganesh Utasav Mein Apaharan
After reading the comments in the EDT I realized it's best to do the WU before I get lazy. š Don't mind my comments. They're my frustration venue. š And for some reason I've become spiteful about these episodes. Don't mind my spite at the officers. š¤
Ganpatiji is welcomed by a group of people as Deva Shree Ganesha plays in the background.(Every time this song plays I feel like dancing. Too bad I'm in the office right now. š) Ganpatiji is being taken along a road where 2 friends are trying to convince 1 friend to dance with them. As the dancing continues, the Kumars are welcomed by Dhanraj. Mr. Kumar calls Anya, the friend who doesn't want to dance, but Dhanraj says to leave it. Anya is stopped by Ajay, but then she's taken away by her 2 friends to dance. A couple of men with fully-colored faces start dancing around her and prick her with something so that she loses consciousness. Ajay sees them take her away, but is unable to get to her on time due to the dancing crowd. He is left looking around confused and worried.
Abhijeet reaches Daya's house to talk about Shreya and the reason behind her getting married. (Please shoot me. I can't believe I'm actually watching this scene. š„± But everyone deserves to know what happened.) Abhijeet is about to tell Daya the reason behind Shreya marrying when Daya is called about Anya's kidnapping.
Daya, Sachin, Purvi, Pankaj, Mayur, and Karan reach the spot where Ajay is standing. He tells them that he was unable to see the two men who kidnapped Anya as their faces were covered with gulaal. The officers spread out and ask people around, but they don't find anything. Daya says that from Linked Road. Purvi suggests that they wouldn't go to one spot, Kishenpul Bazaar, as it's a crowded place. Daya says we'll find our answers from the CCTV footage outside each shop. (Yep. Nowadays even a small shop owned by one man has CCTV. Kya pata kab CID aa jaaye footage maangne. š¤ And each footage will be so clear that I can easily zoom in 500 times and the pixalation won't get messed up.) Daya sends Sachin and Purvi to talk to Anya's family.
Sachin, Purvi, and Mayur reach Anya's family with Ajay. Mr. Kumar says that he didn't see or hear anything. One friend says that when we saw Ajay running then we found out something happened. (Look at the background in this scene. You'll realize that the background is fake. This was probably shot in some studio with a clip running in the background. š) Sachin asks if they got any call yet. Mr. Kumar says nothing yet. Purvi asks if they know who did it. Mr. Kumar says that they don't know. Mrs. Kumar says that Anya was very quiet for the past few days and didn't tell them anything. She adds that she was arguing with Dhanraj on something. Mr. Kumar says that Dhanraj was the one who invited them. Sachin says we'll need to talk to Dhanraj. Mrs. Kumar says that she just wants Anya back. Sachin says we'll bring her back no matter what. (He called her aunty. Since when did CIDians get so personal? š¤)
In the CID Qualis, Pankaj is examining the footage which is conveniently placed to cover the road. Daya finds it weird that nothing has been found yet. Pankaj asks for paper and pen. Daya starts drawing the road and the footage they found. Daya says that it means the kidnappers went into a side road before the main road they are on. (Detection 101. If the person isn't found on one road then obviously it means they are on another road. Sorry, but the spite is starting to come out slowly.)
Freddy and Dushayant reach Dhanraj's office and ask him about Anya. Dushayant informs him that Anya is missing. Dhanraj says that Anya is like his daughter. Dushayant asks why they were arguing. Dhanraj says that they weren't arguing but discussing something important and he can't tell them. Freddy says that it might help them reach Anya. Dhanraj says that something big was being planned, but he wasn't able to hear it properly because there was too much noise. Freddy takes Dushayant aside and says that Dhanraj knows more than that. Dushayant says we'll find our answers from Anya's house now. (About an hour ago Dhanraj was at his Ganpatiji pooja in a dhoti kurta. Now he's in the office in a full business suit as if he had been there since the morning. Say what? And wouldn't you take Dhanraj into a separate room? What if someone from the office was involved?)
Back on the road, the beginning team is walking along the road to see if they missed something. They decide to talk to some of the shops where they didn't get any CCTV footage from. (Hold on! I thought Daya suggested that the kidnappers went on another road. Why are they still on the same road then?) The team spreads out and start questioning people all around. One shop owner says that some idiot parked a van right in front of his window. He says it was a blue van and the driver started abusing him when he asked him to remove the van. He also adds that the driver had gulaal on his face so he couldn't see the face properly.(Sorry to burst your bubble but even with gulaal there are certain features that can't be missed.) Purvi says that maybe the driver was waiting for the 2 kidnappers. Daya asks which way the van went. The man says towards Kishenpul Bazaar.
Abhijeet, Kavin, Nikhil, and Divya reach Anya's house. They start searching her house. Abhijeet goes through her cell phone which she conveniently left at home. (Puhlease FW. There is no way anyone forgets their mobile at home. Especially us youngsters. Our cell phone is our lifeline and I can tell you if I did manage to leave my cell phone at home I would have turned around wherever I was, gone back home, gotten my cell, and then left again.) Abhijeet examines the friendship cards she put up on the wall. She also put up a sketch she made on the wall. Kavin shows Abhijeet a diary that he found in the bookshelf. Abhijeet asks for permission to go through the diary. (FW yah toh tum log 19th century main rehte ho yah tumhe youngsters ke baare main kuch nahi pata hai. š„± No one writes a diary any more! It's all on our lappys! And for that matter where's Anya's laptop? Why isn't anyone going through that?!!) Abhijeet starts flipping through the diary and reaches today's date where Anya wrote "Aaj kuch bada hone wala hai". Nikhil is on the laptop (Finally!) where Anya has saved photos of normal Mumbai locations. Abhijeet wonders what is going to happen at these spots.
Purvi is now examining the footage with Pankaj, Mayur, and Karan inside the Qualis. Daya and Sachin are outside enjoying the weather. Purvi notices the blue van immediately and calls Daya and Sachin in. (Arre unhe thoda sa weather toh enjoy karne dete.) Pankaj says that they put black film on the car so that no one can see what is happening inside. Purvi gets a 1020 by 1020 pixel photo of the driver. Sachin says that there are so many blue vans, so we can't find the van we want. They head towards the road where the van went, which is a perfect road for criminals as it is always deserted. Daya says that the criminals knew where the CCTV footage is and where to park the van from before. (Yeah every criminal somehow knows that. Still they get caught by CID. How come? Why can't we for once have an episode where the criminal isn't caught and keeps coming back again and again to bother CID until being caught a few months later? Just like in CSI. Kher choro. I'm sure if FW tried that they would mess it up somehow. Back to the episode.) They ask a shoemaker if he saw the blue van. The shoemaker says that he did see it, but he was driving really fast. Pankaj asks for the number, which he doesn't remember. Daya asks if he saw anything different about the van. The shoemaker says that there was a sticker on it with 4 heels. Daya gets a call from Abhijeet about the photos in Anya's laptop. Daya says okay we'll alert the police stations.
In a store, a couple are praising Ganpatiji. (The lady is overacting, the man looks like he is bored.) The lady remembers that they forgot Monu's, their child's, toy in the shop. The husband goes to get it as the wife heads towards the car. She is suddenly shocked. The husband comes back to find his wife, Lata, missing. He finds Monu in the shopping cart a few cars away. (Monu was kept so lovingly it was like Lata ran away without Monu. And how come he isn't hurt? I'm sure that Lata didn't just let the kidnappers take Monu away from her quietly.) He starts calling for Lata, but fails to find her.
Elsewhere a man is kidnapped from his car, another man is kidnapped while he is jogging, and a couple are kidnapped as they are chatting.
Another man reaches a traffic jam and goes ahead to see what happened. The crowd tells him that someone kidnapped the driver of this car.
ACP Pradyuman reaches the bureau angrily as suddenly so many people have disappeared. Dushayant says that in the past 3 hours they've received reports about 90 people being kidnapped. Freddy says that it's like the city's kidnappers suddenly started working together. ACP Pradyuman is sure that this is one gang. (Sorry to burst your bubble ACP sir, but no one gang has the ability to kidnap 90 people in 3 hours. Actually more like sorry FW, but this is an impossible number.) Dushayant wonders why they are kidnapping if it's not for money. ACP Pradyuman says we need to study their modus operandi. (I'll tell you their modus operandi. I got it in just a few minutes. Kidnap random people in the areas where Anya took photos of because that's how FW wants it to be. ) Pankaj says that they were kidnapped in public places. ACP Pradyuman says to look at the photos we saw on Anya's laptop. Pankaj goes through them slowly on a slideshow which was set up by FW in Windows Media Player. Dushayant says that these are the places where the kidnappings took place and Freddy says Anya knew this from before. ACP Pradyuman says that she found out about the kidnappers' plan and their motive as well. He says to question Anya's relatives and friends. Dushayant gets a call that the logo is from Lobo Dance Academy.(Didn't the CID officers usually go about trying to find out where a logo was from?)
At Lobo Dance Academy, some bad acting is going on when Abhijeet, Kavin, Divya, and Nikhil enter. The head lady sends the students away and asks the CID officers where the vans are. She says that 5 of their blue vans were stolen. Nikhil shows a photo and asks if it is theirs. She says yes. Abhijeet says we're trying to find out as these were used for kidnapping. The lady and the dance instructor share guilty glances. Abhijeet asks when they were stolen. The lady says 5 days ago from 5 different places. Abhijeet asks if a driver is on holiday. The lady says that their transport supervisor, Mr. Udit, has been on vacation for 4 days due to viral fever. Abhijeet asks for his contact info. (Can someone please explain what a dance academy needs so many vans and a transport supervisor for? And why is it that even the innocent have to pretend to look guilty to throw us off track?)
The 4 are in a Qualis tracking Udit's number. They head towards Naroli Nagar. Nikhil stops Kavin outside a warehouse. The 4 go in, drawing their guns as they enter. (Yep because criminals always need to hide at a rundown warehouse.) They knock out 2 people who are trying to laugh evilly and head in where 6 others are trying to laugh evilly. (Why oh why do all criminals need to laugh like their mental or something?!! We're not living in the 1960s era anymore!) Abhijeet fires the first bullet to start the patented CID gunfight which kills criminals in unbelievable ways. (Why do CID episodes somehow manage to take the spite out in me so often?) Ajay is suddenly seen and Kavin and Abhijeet blame him for kidnapping Anya. He says that he came here to save Anya. Nikhil comes back to say that the last criminal got away as usual. Nikhil and Divya start searching the area. Abhijeet asks where the 90 people are. Ajay says he's innocent. Divya finds a watch. Abhijeet says it's broken. Nikhil says there is a lot of people's stuff here, but nobody tied. Abhijeet asks for the truth again, but Ajay says he only came here to save Anya. Abhijeet asks how does he know where Anya would be. Ajay says because the same people kidnapped his sister, Rohinita, 3 years ago. (Say what?!!) Abhijeet asks how can he be so sure that the kidnappers are the same.
*FLASHBACK*
Ajay wakes up in bed to a noise. He goes to check and sees Rohinita being dragged away by 2 men. He tries to stop them, but they knock him out.

We don't need a flashback for this. He could have simply said this!
Ajay says that the kidnapper who hit him was wearing the same ring that Anya's kidnapper was wearing. Abhijeet recognizes the design as the same one they saw at Anya's house. (How did he recognize the design when Ajay didn't even describe it?!!) Kavin shows a photo of the design. Abhijeet asks why he didn't say this before. Ajay says he didn't remember before and he didn't say it when he remembered because no one was unable to find Rohinita yet. So he decided that he would do something himself. Abhijeet says that if he had told them this before then they could have saved those 90 people who were kidnapped. (And exactly how do you propose to do that? I don't see the connection between Rohinita, Anya, and the 90 people kidnapped. Or maybe I'm missing something.) Abhijeet asks how did he know where to come. Ajay says that he saw Ramesh, Anya's old driver, and he found his address and reached his chawl.
*FLASHBACK*
Ajay asks for Ramesh from the Panditji who points to Ramesh. Like every criminal, Ramesh makes a run for it and Ajay follows. Ramesh falls at one point and Ajay demands to know where Anya is. Ramesh says that he told some people about Anya because they threatened to kill him. Ajay demanded the location from Ramesh.

Back in the warehouse, Kavin asks how they will reach the kidnappers. Abhijeet says the sketch will help them reach them now.
At Anya's house, Abhijeet, Kavin, and Nikhil are examining the sketch. Kavin says that maybe Anya knew the kidnappers from before and that's why they kidnapped her. Abhijeet tells Nikhil to check their database. As Nikhil is taking the paper, Abhijeet sees something on the back. It reads Cartar Street, Kolnimopa. Abhijeet thinks that the name is of a cafe or bar. (Stupid name to keep for a cafe. Think about it. "Today I'm going to Kolnimopa Cafe". Yuck! š¤¢š)
In the bureau, Dushayant says that no cafe or bar is named Kolnimopa on Carter Street. (Thank god. If there was then I would have fallen off my chair laughing at the owner of the place. š¤£) ACP Pradyuman says that it is a code which is related to Carter Street somehow. Ajay comes in and asks about Ajay and Rohinita. Freddy says it's weird that these 2 kidnappings are connected. ACP Pradyuman asks if Rohinita had any enemies, but Ajay refutes that. Pankaj agrees to that saying he talked to 3 friends. Ajay says that Rohinita used to be worried after getting her new job at Kites Corporation.
At some site 2 men are discussing the site survey. Abhijeet, Kavin, Nikhil, and Divya come there asking if it is Kites Corporation. One man refutes it. The other says that it used to be here, but they left 2 years ago. He is the owner and rented the place to them for 5 years, but they disappeared 2 years ago. Abhijeet asks if he has any papers, but the owner says that the papers were all fake. Abhijeet asks how many people worked there. The owner says about 30 people and they had weird working hours. They started working when most offices closed. Kavin asks if Rohinita worked there, but the owner doesn't remember. Abhijeet shows a photo of Rohinita, but the owner can't remember the face. (Thank god. The thing did happen 3 years ago so if this owner had remembered everything I would have broken something in anger!) Nikhil says maybe Rohinita was living 2 lives. Abhijeet says we need to reach Kites Corporation fast.
In an underground science lab of some sort, the kidnappers are doing something with the people who were kidnapped. One of them is Anya.
Precap: The goons are heading somewhere. The reporters are demanding what CID is doing. Freddy says that the kidnapped were big people like doctors, engineers, and so on. Dushayant says that the kidnappers are only targeting smart people. He wonders what the kidnappers are trying to do.
