Mary Kom is looking set for a first day of around 7 crore nett mark which is a decent figure but not that good considering the sort of release it had at multiplexes. The film has done well in Mumbai circuit (except Gujarat), Delhi NCR, West Bengal and Mysore.
The premium multiplexes performed well but other places where opening was so so had a limited pick up in the evening. The film was only tax free in Maharashtra on day one as the papers are probably still to come in other states. This is probably why Mumbai has outperformed as places like Mumbai city, Thane and Pune got advantage of tax free status.
The film has collected similar to Heroine which is the biggest opener for films which have only a female star with no face value as far as male actor is concerned. Some films female star films like Jism 2 and Ragini MMS 2 have also collected more but they were aided more by the genre rather than star
