I do not think the writers will allow Samrat to be punished harshly or for his bad days to come (him losing all his money, etc). Urmi will become independent for sure, but it is not Samrat's character for him to lose. The whole point of this show is to illustrate how much torture a wife can take from an abusive husband. There is nothing about winning and losing, but the effects of the Indian society and how it can wreck havoc on those who are subdued. I mean it is not an unlikely happening that a husband kills his wife for disobeying him with no remorse. This happens in all societies not just the Indian one. I think the show will end with Urmi's death.

Very interesting post.
While I concur that the show is more about Urmi coming out of her shell and finding the courage to stand up for herself rather then teaching Samrat a lesson or Samrat repenting his actions. I don't know if Urmi's death will be the conclusion of this show - if Urmi were to be killed by Samrat - what message is that sending?

That would be telling society that a married woman's rightful place is in her husband's home and anyone who disrupts that status ought to be punished. That's essentially taking away or glossing over the crux of the show which is domestic violence is NOT ok under any circumstance and women DO NOT have to put up with it.

While seeing Samrat get punished would be satisfying to us viewers - that's not the primary focus of the show - the primary focus is Urmi standing up for herself and walking away from Samrat's tyranny.

I think they have lost the focus of the show and keeping bringing in illogical tracks to add to more and more disgust to Samrat's character. In reality there is law and for god's sake Samrat singh rathod is not as much a big personality that they keep showing that he can get anything done no matter how extreme. Banks don't fire an employee because an idiotic rich customer wants. The CV's had made the logical characters like Ishaan, Trisha and the inspector that wanted to fry Samrat raw and feed it to the dogs vanish into thin air. I am sure a lot of viewers too have vanished and some like me only read updates to see how psychotic the writers can get
