Mumbai: Shahid Kapoor and Priyanka Chopra had a volatile now on-now off relationship before they finally called it quits years ago. But the estranged couple seems to remain cordial with each other.

In the recent past, both personally and professionally, the two have supported each other. So it was not a complete surprise to spot the former lovers relaxing over a cup of coffee.

They tried to keep their rendezvous a hush-hush thing, but what caught everyone's attention was how Shahid made extra efforts to prevent the media from getting a whiff of it. But there could be more than meets the eye. According to close sources, the news about his meeting with PC was allegedly leaked by his own set of people. So it could well be a planned strategy by Shahid's very aggressive PR. The idea is to create a buzz around the actor at the onset of the promotions of his upcoming film Haider.

"Shahid had watched a few rushes of Priyanka's Mary Kom, he wanted to personally congratulate her for her brilliant work in the film. There was nothing more to it. They are friends and neighbours too. So what's the big deal about catching up with a friend?" says a source close to Shahid.

Time and again, Shahid has succeeded in making headlines for his camaraderie with top Bollywood actresses. With Haider around the corner, the actor's aggressive strategy of being seen at the right place at the right time is working wonders.
