These days I can't understand Shiv's reactions. They have shown him concerned for Anandi's health and possibly believing that she's crumbling under the stress of recent events/trauma. Even then, I would have expected more warmth from him towards Anandi because he is sure something is wrong with her health. Instead, he sometimes comes across as strict and intolerant of her behavior like a traditional old-school husband. Shiv is definitely not like that by nature.
He has been shocked by Anandi's yo-yo behavior but I never expected him to rebuke her. For example, when she asked him to bring her pizza I think he overreacted. Anandi glided towards him with so much enthusiasm when she brought him tea - he never paid attention to that but he expected her to bring DB's tea. She didn't even see DB! . Since when is Shiv a typical husband expecting her to be of service 24/7 to his family?
In the beginning, he wanted her to be more expressive and open about her feelings but now that she's doing it, albeit in a crazy manner, he actually feels embarrassed by her rather than understanding the depth of her emotions that make her declare her love for him like this. Where's all that modernness? I would've thought he'd be firm but very gentle and loving towards her, instead of behaving as if she's a very rude person. He knew her so well before they married, and they have gone through so much since then. The alarm bells should have rung in his head a long time ago.
We all know Sidharth is fabulous with emoting through facial expressions, voice modulation, and especially his eyes. He breathes life into Shiv on our screens and is probably enacting those scenes the way he was directed to. I just think that some scenes have been poorly written of late, so as a viewer I feel a bit disconnected from Shiv and his bond with his wife. Even during the recent gajra ceremony he had a very sarcastic expression on his face when DB said she was praying for Anandi's happiness. Didn't he think things through any further?
I'm sure Sidharth is doing his best with the material he's been given but Shiv's interactions with Anandi when she's going through a major personal crisis have put me off lately, far more than when he was against her during the Sanchi/Jagya fiasco (never thought that would happen).
