After seeing the promos of Ishq Gumshuda, seems like its somewhat relevant to Imran-Genelia starrer Jaane Tu Yaa Jaane Na.
I say that cz JTYJN released in 2008 while Ishq Gumshuda aired in 2010
Ali, Aleezeh and Neha (Humayun, Sarwat and Amina) are best buddies with the bond between Ali and Aleezeh being exceptional.
Everyone speculates them as a couple but they have no such plans. Instead Ali considers Neha to be a better match for him.
The journey looks like the duo's discovery of love for each other beyond friendship. Has anyone seen the drama?
Would love to know more about it, but let's avoid spoilers. This looks like a fun show to me and I want to enjoy it on TV 😊

Yes from the promos it looks like that the show focuses on that very concept rather a question- can a man and an woman have a relationship without being romantically inclined? The show looks urban and its about two workimg people and not college kids. But one thing I am little confused that the male lead in a way just uses the other friend to make it a point to his lover. But looks interesting and I like Aamina Sheikh after watching daam and maat. So looking forward to it.

From d promos it looks like a one sided love frm d guy's side, where d girl considers him as just a frnd, though she does come across as callous towards d guy's feeling nd the guy in order to hide his embarrassment lies abt loving d other girl nd seems once dey get hooked the frnd probably now wants d guy.

So seems like a love triangle.

from the promo its looks like the girl considers him as his best friend only and the guy to hide his broken heart says he loves someone else.
JTYJN was completely different. Boy loves someone else girl gets engaged to someone else and slowly the discover their love

I don't think Ali "uses" Neha.
From his dialogue, "Mujhe ek thehri hui mohabbat ki zaroorat hai" it seems like he had given up any hope of being with Aleezeh and decides he could settle down with Neha.
After all, "marrying the one you love" is a very idealistic approach. Life if a bit different you do make compromises.
And the only similarity I find here with JTYJN is that they realize its love and not just friendship when one of them is about to get hitched with someone else. Till then it was simple denial!
