Ekta Kapoor with Prachi Desai

Prachi Desai, who plays the role of the adorable Bani in Kasamh Se, seems to have taken over from Anita Hasanandani as Ekta's new blue-eyed girl. When Anita started with Balaji, Ekta was so fond of her that she cast her in movies, apart from giving her the lead role in Kavyanjali. Anita acted in Balaji movies Kuch Toh Hai and Krishna Cottage.

Now Ekta is all set to produce a movie where Prachi will play the lead role. A well-placed source in Balaji says, "Ekta thinks that Prachi's innocence is her trump card as it has played a big role in making her character of Bani in Kasamh Se a household name. She believes it will create the same magic on the big screen. Although Bani's role is overpowered by emotions, her role is supposed to be that of a simple girl in the film. The film will be a romantic comedy. Most probably the theme of the film will be youth-based. Everything is in the scripting stage, so details are yet to be worked out."

Prachi was reluctant to divulge any details. "How do you know about this?" she asked. On being asked details, she said, "Yes, we had a few talks, but I am not in a position to talk about it now."

Ekta is on a high with the release of Shootout at Lokhandwala and her association with Sanjay Gupta has worked big time. Prachi's potential movie may be co-produced by Sanjay Gupta's White Feather Films.

It is a known that Prachi wants to play young character and has expressed her desire to Ekta. After the cameo in Kasautii Zindagi Kay, and the proposed new chat show, Prachi has her hands full. "If Prachi does a new show and the new movie, she will definitely have a tough time managing her schedule for Kasamh Se, which has made her whatever she is today," adds our source.
