| Although the Abbas-Mustan-directed film for Mukta Arts Ltd., 36 CHINA TOWN, is 50% complete [after schedules in Bangkok and Mauritius] and the Satish Kaushik-directed film for the same concern, SHAADI SE PEHLE, has just been launched, SHAADI SE PEHLE will make it to the theatres before 36 CHINA TOWN. "That's because we're shooting the film [SHAADI SE PEHLE] at one go, in a 35-day start-to-finish schedule in Malaysia," Akshaye Khanna, the lead man of the film, enlightens me, "Ideally, that's the way movies should be made. Prolonging a film might result in the actors losing interest in it." Akshaye adds that SHAADI SE PEHLE is the funniest story he has heard in a long, long time. "I couldn't control my laughter when I heard the script. It's hilarious, something like this hasn't been attempted before. I am sure it'll turn out to be one of the best comedies," the supremely talented actor states. While SHAADI SE PEHLE should hit the screens in January/February next year, 36 CHINA TOWN is slated for an April/May 2006 release. |
