Brilliant post PadBear!!

It was jalal unleashed yesterday...jalal at his savage best...but not without cause...Atgah was possibly the final straw that broke the camels back...jalal has been 'takining it' from adham and maham from a very long time...taking it and forgiving them time and again...chance after chance to redeem and reform themselves...but there are some tresspasses that perhaps God would also find difficult to forgive...what I liked most about jalal yesterday was his chilling calmness in the aftermath,...there was absolutely no guilt in his eyes when he met maham and she eventually shatters in his arms...no guilt ...no regret...but a deep sadness at where life had brought him...a juncture in life where his own were killing his own...where he had to kill his own to protect his own...jalal has to be the emperor here...the absolute sovereign...he can be no less...for his family, for his love, his unborn children, his awam, his kingdom...jalal can be no less...

yes BV glad you agree about the no guilt thing. I saw no guilt either.

a juncture in life where his own were killing his own...where he had to kill his own to protect his own How well put. That was exactly where it was at yesterday and again, as you say, God may have found it difficult to forgive ... but I think it can be forgiven, but it cannot be left unpunished. Justice demands certain things for the good of all.

Will do a detailed post later Paddy but yes - there was no guilt in Jalal yesterday - what was there was a deep sadness and emptiness - will elaborate later .
