Diana's sons ask Elton to sing funeral song

Sir Elton John will for the first time since 1997 be singing his tribute to Princess Diana Candle in the Wind at the concert marking her tenth death anniversary after being asked to do so by her sons, Princes William and Harry.
John sang Candle In The Wind 1997 in public, for the first and only time in history, at Diana's funeral in Westminster Abbey on September 6, 1997.
He has since repeatedly turned down requests to perform the song live and only plays the 1973 version at concerts. The song has also never been released on any of his albums. Now however, he has agreed to do so at the Concert for Diana on July 1.
And the news comes from none other than Diana's son Prince Harry, who along with his brother William made the singer a very special request.
Harry revealed the news on an interview with the BBC's Fearne Cotton.
"He's helped massively just by saying yes and obviously a personal request from us is to do Candle in the Wind again. So hopefully he'll be playing that," The Sun quoted the Royal, as saying.
The song was originally written in memory of Marilyn Monroe, Sir Elton and veteran writing partner Bernie Taupin reworked it to honour Diana during her funeral.
