Jhoom Barabar Jhoom - Your Thoughts

Well the wait for JBJ ended two weeks ago. And for many of us, it was a HUGE disappointment. The super glamorous promos, the amazing star cast, the super catchy songs and the infamous director Shaad Ali wasn't enough to please the audience.

With a great starcast starring Abhishek Bachchan, Preity Zinta, Bobby Deol, Lara Dutta and a special apperance by Amitabh Bachchan .. what could've gone wrong??

With songs like Jhooom and Bol Na Halka Halka making it # 1 on many charts.

And with a director like Shaad who has had loads of success with his previous two films Saathiya and Bunty Aur Babli .. Everyone was expecting another huge hit!

According to reviews and the audience the movie was a huuggeee disappointment. It lacked a story and there was something about the movie that didn't leave you satisified.

What do you think went wrong?

Are glamourous sets and costumes not enough? Are catchy tunes not satisfying? Is a star studded cast like that not good enough?

Is YR losing it's touch?

Even Tara Rum Pum was much awaited by the public but didn't get the best reviews.

So what went wrong? What could've been done better? Would you change the starcast?

i saw the movie n am cursing myself for it 😆

wht the movie lacked was a story n a proper script
i felt tht the direction was also amateurish,there was no link between the scenes. They just jumped from one scene to another.

AB was wasted in the movie.....even in the end i didnt understand wht his role was 😆 ......from nowhere he used to pop n then sing n dance 😕

personally i felt tht lara n bobby were the saving grace.
AB jr. overacted ,same goes for preity. Shaad cldnt bring out the best of them.

IMO,a film to be successful shld have a gr8 story n a strong script.If the story is simple ,it can be a hit provided its treatment is different. Afterall when u come out of the theatre,u have to be satisfied with the movie.

Ok lets face it---JBJ was just crap- it was aspiring yet disappointing, it was super stylish, yet it fell flat on its nose when it comes to quality and SENSE! God I still donot know what was happenning in the movie.
Was there any SCRIPT in that film at all?? 🤢 🤢 🤢
It was such NONESENSE. in one word. I cant recall liking anything in the movie okn xcept-Choreography, some songs, and ok Bobby deol was a relief. Except that I disliked everything in it...and Ofc My Big B was cuteeeeeee But I dunno what he was doing anyways...Popping up every now n then n dancing..I mean what was his need? 😕 Even the jokes pissed my of..I mean such low quality kinda humour..that scene when Preity and Lara Swaer to show their strenght in mouthing Hindi Words--Yuch can u bend lower?🤢
Abhi overacted, 😭 Shocking coz its after Guru..😭
Preity-Nothing special, her accent seemed sooo fake
Lara-Was pretty godd thank god.
No story, no basic foundation---Sometimes xrazy films work but such stupid films will nott, No wonder it flopedd

These days..Its not Sratcast and Banner which matters,,It is substance which matters...Its intelligent cinema which triumphs..Take Cheeni Kum or Metro or Bheja Fry for Example.
Of course, the audience i still primitive in many areas like we dun accept unconventional stuff But thats still better than making crap films succeed! 😆 😆

YRF--After Dhoom..its their DOOM!
They make suchbad movies---Overrated is the word which defines them. Nowadays they make quality-less movies! 😆

Tara Rum Pum didn't get the BEST reviews. Everyone called the film average. And I didn't compare it with JBJ. I was trying to say that YR isn't doing too well with it's films anymore.

I haven't watched JBJ yet but i have watched TRRP and it's a great movies, loved the movie from begining to the end. I never go after reviews. From the promos of JBJ, preity and Abhishek overacted and fake. For a successful movie you need good script, dialouges and most important performances. I read bobby and Lara taking the credit in the movie. I wonder why Preity wasting her time on nonsense movies? 😕 First JEM and now JBJ

The film was a huge letdown! The script was horrible and Preity and Abhishek were disappointing!

I did enjoy Lara and Bobby's performance and the music but other than that, what a let down!!!
