Part 7: The time of crisis
This was probably the best period of their life. Raman used to tease Ishitha with his one liners and she used to give him back royally. He used to call her JSKR and she used to call him Ravan kumar. There was true sense of respect and care between them. Even if Ishu doesn't come home for a day Raman would drop by and check why she isn't home. He would say Ruhi missed her while actually they had become so dependent on each other that they didn't feel complete without sharing the day's happening with each other. Ishu on the other hand was so attached to Ruhi.If Ruhi was sick she used to stay back at Bhalla's home and take care of her. Mrs Bhalla could see a real mother in Ishitha for Ruhi. Adhi had once expressed how he used to go for swimming with his father and now his Amma doesn't allow him as he is alone and no one to accompany. Raman made it a point to take Adhi every weekend for swimming. Mrs Iyer also could see a good father in him for Adhi. They were happy & contented unaware of the storm that can hit them. Adhi was bonding too well with Raman. In fact there were instances when Raman and Adhi where going out alone. Mihir also started bonding well with Adhi.
Mihir told Mihika that Shagun was his sister. He didn't want to hide anything to her. Mihika's parents and the Iyer's were little hesitant after knowing this truth. Raman and Ishitha convinced the whole family that they must not punish Mihir for Shagun's faults. Also mentioned that he is not having any ties with her now. They then got convinced and wanted to have Mihir and Mihika's wedding directly instead of engagement. Kids were having animated discussion about what would be the theme of the wedding. They were planning to have a huge party etc. Romi, Rinky and Simmi where the next excited ppl and were getting involved with the kids. They all decide to go out for shopping.
They got to a shopping mall and are shopping. Raman was selecting dress for Adhi while Ishitha for Ruhi. There was a pair of evil eyes watching them. It was Subbu. Subbu had been trying to having a kid for him with his new partner. Since he was getting old and had some issues they were not able to have a kid. He used to love Adhi a lot. That was evident. But when it came to money and Adhi he choose money instead of Adhi. He had agreed in writing to give the custody of Adhi to Ishitha. He was repenting his mistake now as he doesn't have a kid of his own.
Subbu wants to go and talk to Adhi. He approaches Ishitha who is getting opinion of Raman on Ruhi's dress. Mihika and Mihir were in other section.
S: Hi Ishitha how are you.
Ishitha is stunned and drops the dress she is having in hand. A small tear roll down her eyes. Raman looks at her perplexed. Adhi turns around and comes and hugs Subbu calling him appa. Raman understand who is the person. Ishitha looks at Adhi and doesn't say anything. She clears her throat and says she is well and enquires his wellbeing.
S: Will you not introduce the gentlemen next to you, when did you guys get married
Ishitha was getting irritated. She responds to him saying he is Raman Kumar Bhalla her friend and they are not married. Subbu gives a wicked grin and starts talking to Adhi. Ishitha moves away for the place and takes Ruhi to toys section, while Raman is still with Adhi. Subbu does somehow not like Raman's presence. He kisses Adhi and tells him that he will come and meet him tomorrow and leaves. Raman takes Adhi with him and meets Ishitha. Rest of the shopping was pretty sober and they leave home.
Next evening Ishitha's doorbell rings and its Subbu. She is very irritated to see him. He asks for Adhi.
S: I promised him that I will come and meet him today
I: Oh, I see. But you don't have the habit of fulfilling your promise. Then what brings you here.
S: He is my son, you cannot stop me meeting him
I: He was your son until you choose money for him. Not anymore
In the mean while Adhi comes and meets Subbu. He comes very happy and he takes him to his room. Ishitha goes out the house and silently sitting near a water pond. Ruhi who had accompanied her father for a evening walk sees Ishitha and runs to her. Raman follows her. They greet each other and Raman notices that Ishitha is very upset. He assumes might be because of last night. He tries to cheer her up by mocking at her.
R: Ajj kya hua, tushne ke liye moti ko kuch nehi milla kya, tumhare lecture baji band kui hai.( Didn't you get anything to eat, why is your lecture mode off)
I: Kya kare, jab apne bechme mad buddhi insan kada ho, toh lecture dene ka faida kya hai. Waste of energy, she retorted.( When we have people with less intellect amidst us whats the use of lecture)
R: yeh IIT, IIM se hun. IPS be clear kiya hai mene, mujje madbudhi bolrahi ho( I am from IIT & IIM, have cleared IPS as well, you are calling me person with less intellect)
Saying so he is running to hit Ishitha she runs to escape from him. A smile creeps in her face and Raman is happy about it. Subbu had done with Adhi and was watching both of them. He also takes couple of snaps for the incident.
He walks up to Ishitha and tells her that he wants to talk to her on something.
Raman takes ruhi away. Subbu tells her that he is not interested in her and he needs Adhi back in his life. He will have a new mom who will take care of him. Ishitha becomes very agitated and lashes out on him denying this and also reminds him that he had signed saying Adhi's custody will be with her in the court during their divorce. Subbu says he know how to get his son back and leave the place.
Ishitha takes Subbu's words lightly as she feels confident about Adhi's custody. In a week she receives a court notice from Subbu seeking Adhi's custody and stating her to be characterless women and bring her son up in her environment might be harmful for child's future.
Ishitha is totally shattered and Mr Iyer tells her this was the reason why he was restricting her from building her friendship with Raman. Ishitha is weeping badly. Adhi overhears the whole conversation. He loved his father, but he cannot leave his mother as well for him. She had never uttered even a single bad thing about him, while when his father met him a week ago he was bad mouthing about his mother. He always felt his mother was better than his father and today's incident made him really hate his father.
Part 8: Point of Decision making
Lawyer suggests re marriage for Ishitha and if she is married that would be an advantage than being a single mother and they also say Adhi's opinion would be sought. Everyone is worried if Adhi will choose Subbu knowing his love for Subbu.
Raman gets to know about Subbu's notice and desperately wants to help Ishitha
Mrs Iyer and Bhalla talk to each other about Ishitha and Raman's Marriage.
