Breath of Fresh Air

Chapter 4

On the way home, Raman received a call from Mihir asking him to have a look at his new office if he had time. Since he had the entire evening to himself, he decided to first go to his office and then return home.

It was evening; Ishita bid her clinic good bye and returned home. The entire family sat around chatting over tea, Bala jiju had dropped Bandu aaka and Shravu home for two days, he was going out with his students on excursion and because shravu won't stay without his mother so aaka couldn't accompany jiju.

Ruhi rushed towards Ishita and hugged her "aa gayi aap?" "ha mera baccha kaisa hai?"

"mai theek hu, aap boht tired lag rahi ho"

Ishita recalled the day's events, and sighed, this has indeed been the most eventful day of her life "nehi woh bas boht kaam than a clinic mein, tum batao papa se mili?"

"ha ishu aunty, papa na mere liye dresses laye hai, mai boht khush hu..." and she went on and on..

"Accha Ruhi papa aayenge na tab milne challenge unse, abhi tum jao Shravu ke saath, school nehi gayi na toh notes le lo, mai fresh ho ke aati hu phir help kar dungi theek hai?" "amma inn dono ko milk de dijiye aur please see to it ki Ruhi finishes her milk, boht nakhre hai iske iss cheez ko leke"

Ruhi and Shravu made faces at the mention of milk and rushed to Mihika's room with books, so that they could study and also listen to Mihika citti's hot-shot gossips of her office. Shravu was particularly interested in Mihir, the silent guy, whom his citti loved to hate and would curse him every now and then.

Ishita meanwhile went to her bathroom to change into her night-wears, halfway down the shower she realised she had discarded her dress in Bhalla house to be precise in Mr Raman Bhalla's bathroom, she panicked, discarding your clothes in the bathroom of an unknown man isn't the most happening thing to do. She quickly dressed up and rushed to the Bhalla house. Ruhi had said that her papa wasn't home, and Toshi aunty would have called her if he had returned.

She entered the Bhalla house to find it empty, everyone was in their respective rooms, thanking Murgan she rushed to Mr Bhalla's room. Opening the door slightly, she peeked in, he wasn't there. Thanking murgan again for the n^th time she ran for her life towards the bathroom opened the door and shrieked with all her strength. There was another voice mingled with her shriek and they shrieked in unison.

Raman returned home to an empty hall, he decided he would pay a visit to his mother's room once he is done with the much needed shower and without bothering anyone, he rushed to his room. He stepped out of the shower in all his glory i.e. in his birth-suit and just when he was about to take the bathrobe he noticed clothes hanging there, and they didn't belong to him. So, he took the bundle of clothes in his hands to examine them closely. At that precise moment, the door banged open and before he could understand the situation, he heard a shriek "AAAHHH..." he too shrieked with her and covered himself with the clothes in his hand.

Still shrieking, Ishita shouted "yeh aap kya kar rahe hai? gande aadmi, chodiye mere kapdo ko, aur aap yaha bhi aa gaye, ayyoo!! Murgan ktna besharam aadmi hai" and she pulled her the clothes "arre pagal ho gayi ho kya? kya kar rahi ho, tum yaha kya kar rahi ho, peecha kar rahi ho mera?" he too pulled the clothes to save his dignity. After a bit of pulling and pushing, Ishita managed to get hold of a major portion of her clothes leaving only her b*a to Raman's territory and Raman looked at the cloth in his hand and then at her. She closed her eyes and shrieked again; with a final pull she took the final piece of the poor man's clothing and rushed out of the bathroom. He stood transfixed there for a few seconds and then quickly wore the bathrobe hanging there.

Mrs Bhalla had meanwhile ran to Raman's room and asked "cheekhey kaha se aa rahi thi?... arre Ishita puttar tu kab aayi?" "ji auntiji mai subhe kapde bhul gayi thi yaha" Ishita sheepishly replied.

"oh, chal accha hai Raman aaya nehi ab tak"

"mai yaha hu maa"

Looking at Ishita's beet-root red face hung low, Mrs Bhalla understood the situation and she was literally rolling on the floor and laughing like a maniac, the other two simply stood there embarrassed. Ishita wanted the floor to break open and swallow her. This man who had kissed her was Ruhi's father, this man whom she had seen naked a few moments ago was Ruhi's father. Aayoo!! Muragn ab nazar kaise milaungi unse mai.

Oh, so she is the great Ruhi ki Ishu aunty, Raman you kissed Ishita? Uske baad bhi clinic mein jo bachi khuchi izzat thi woh bhi to dekh liya isne sab

"Accha...hehe, ab jab tum dono mil hi chuke ho, hehe... toh mai formal introduction karwa deti hu" Mrs Bhalla started having hiccups as a result of laughing so hard "Ishita beta, yeh hai Raman, Ruhi ke papa aur Raman yeh Ishita hai, Ruhi ki Ishi Aunty"

"ji auntiji mai baad mein Ruhi ko leke aati hu" saying so Ishita rushed out of the room and didn't stop until she locked the door of her bedroom.
