Abhi's ability to speak his heart

I loved Abhi's scene with Tannu today. That was the highlight of the episode for me.

The situation was that he was caught by his girlfriend, Tannu, with kisses on his cheeks by Pragya. But defending the accidental kisses was the last thing on his mind. He got to the issue directly. He told Tannu the conflict he has since he witnessed Pragya helping him selflessly despite his torture while Tannu played utterly selfish.

He very clearly expressed he feels grateful to Pragya and respects her. He also talked to Sarla aunty dearly about Pragya in front of Tannu to make his stand clear.

All this might cost him his relationship with Tannu. And he is not at all sure about his relationship with Pragya. But yet, he dared to speak his heart as clear as possible.

If Tannu-Abhi's relationship breaks eventually, Tannu will not be really able to complain that he ditched her for Pragya. She would know clearly his reasons.

I think this is exactly why Pragya can understand Abhi beyond his betrayal and ill treatment. And in fact this honesty will also earn him Pragya's love eventually.

So, yes, Abhi was honest with Tannu today. He has been honest with Pragya too.

I like this trait about Abhi to be able to speak his heart without giving a damn about what one will think or how the consequences might affect him. This is one thing that has been so consistent in his character.

Shabbir was brilliant and portrayed Abhi's stand perfectly.

Sorry I was in an all day meeting, so couldn't respond. But, I had to respond to this post. Although I had been watching KB in bits and pieces, I had not watched each and every episode due to various reasons, so I am finally catching up with all the episodes only now. As I read your post, I realize that what you said is absolutely true. Abhi has never lied, has always been honest. But at the same time... I suddenly realized that the reason Pragya is so comfortable with him is due to this quality of his. When Suresh is a total contrast to him. Pragya was always trying to "decipher" his hidden intentions, be it earlier when she mistook his friendship for love, or even later when she got hurt with his claims of *loving* her. She clearly asks Suresh if he loves her, and he agrees that wo use chaahta hai. This is because Pragya was so adamant that she did not want a relationship of pity or anything. She also mentions in one episode that she has zero confidence on herself (that anyone can even choose her)... Now if we put two and two together, ofcourse, Pragya was not expecting anyone to love her, so with Abhi she definitely was not expectng any of that. But, she appreciates that from day 1, Abhi has been very clear with her of what he wants. So between Suresh and Abhi, Abhi may torture her but he treats her with the respect of being *honest* with her... even if it means saying I hate you. I dont know why your post brought these thoughts to my mind...

Yes, compared to the small peck scene, I preferred Tannu and Abhi's scene today. Instead of bushing around, he straightforwardly says what he feels. Hence, the thank you scene to Pragya. If it was someone else, the character would have probably suspected on Pragya or refuse to thank her because of the ego. But Abhi says what he feels. He's not really good at hiding his emotions. Which also makes me wonder how he's going to react when he realises he has feelings for Pragya. How is he going to conceal his feelings towards her?

About Abhi loving Tannu, I am sure he cared for her more than she cares for him. But I am sure he didn't love her as much as he loves Daadi and Aaliyah. She didn't matter that much to him in a lot of occasions. But yes, so far, she was the woman in his life...

True. Plus I think in his *unreal* world, he was not even seeking real love. He was happy with his girlfriend, eventually planned to marry her and woudl be happy with this superficial relation. His encounters with Pragya on the other hand made him think.

Btw, I have a confusion. When did Abhi become rich? If they started poor, why is Aaliya such a snoot that she cant tolerate Pragyas house etc in the earlier episodes? They were not born rich, right?
