When the show first went on air,honestly I was doubtful of its success because they were projecting someone as a historical great who had already impressed the audience with his hip-hop,locking & popping. Yes I am talking about Faisal Khan. But then also I saw with absolute wonder how the dancing star has become one of the finest actors on small screen and I really appreciate Contiloe for giving us the 'Actor Faisal'. Then there came Vishal as Akbar, Roshni as Ajabde, Jannat as Phool and all of them appeared more than perfect for their respective roles let alone the supporting actors. So it was more like living that historical age than watching just a show. I knew that the leap has to come one day & I have to bid bye to the talented youngsters but I was never disheartened because I always had faith on Contiloe. But after getting the names of new recruits in the lead roles, I'm quite confused.
I came to know from my fellow members that it was Contiloe which gave us actress like Kratika Sengar(I quite like her acting) in Jhansi ki Rani, but then also it had failed in casting Shivaji. So on Contiloe's part, there is some inconsistency in successful casting. And here I am doubtful of the new actor/actress coming to this show. And I want ,like the way Faisal proved me wrong, the new bunch of actors to do the same.
But the biggest problem is, as the new names are coming out, I don't even imagine them in the roles they are assigned to. I am not saying that they lack talent. They're well- established & have proven themselves. But what I want to say is that the roles currently assigned to them have certain physical & behavioral traits that do not suit them. Like Sharad Malhotra as grown-up Pratap... he is more like a soft-spoken , romantic boy of next door. I can hardly match the struggling, brave-heart warrior with him.
The casting of Rachna Parulkar as Ajabde as it has come out, is even more surprising. I have seen the actress in her debut project & with all respect to her acting talent I like to conclude that she is not a good choice for Ajabde. She neither resembles the Ajabde we have seen nor she can emote like her as a nervous, innocent yet dedicated girl. I'm completely blank about her casting & I can only pray that she will also prove me wrong.
I still think that there could be better replacement for lead roles like KSG ,Karan Kundra ,Manish Raisinghani or Mohit Raina(though last two are already doing shows) who have it in their face & can act soft & tough simultaneously.
