SRK's HNY Trailer Going Cold on Youtube

With just 2.2 million hits in four days, the trailer of Shahrukh Khan's coming film Happy New Year has turned out somewhat damp on YouTube.

Happy New Year has been voted by ApunKaChoice readers as the Most Awaited Film of the Year, but the film's first trailer hasn't got the response one expected online.

To give you a perspective, Hrithik Roshan's Bang Bang teaser notched up 2.3 million views in one day. Happy New Year trailer hasn't reached that mark even after four days. Another comparison: Salman Khan's Kick trailer got 4.2 million views in two days. Happy New Year is nowhere closer.

One reason for fewer hits could be that the trailer was also released on Facebook and WhatsApp.

Going by the response to the trailer by Bollywood celebs, there have indeed been praises from some quarters, but the kind of euphoria the 'Bang Bang teaser' (watch it here) generated is clearly missing in the case of the Happy New Year trailer.


The views on YouTube should have been more for Happy New Year as its trailer came out on August 14, on the eve of National holiday. The theatrical trailer was released alongside Singham Returns
