The South African-born batsman took a full part in training on Wednesday morning and provided there is no reaction he should be fit to play.
His Warwickshire team-mate Ian Bell missed the start of the session after suffering a groin injury on Tuesday.
But it is hoped he may be able to play a part later in the session.
England play a second Twenty20 match against West Indies at The Oval on Friday before three one-day matches next week.
Trott, who featured in two junior matches for South Africa in the under-15 and under-19 World Cups, was a surprise inclusion in England's one-day squad.
But the former Western Province player has been in good form for his county, scoring 342 at an average of 114 in the group stages of the Friends Provident Trophy - the second highest average in the country.
