As the independence day is nearing, I thought we might share our favourite patriotic films of Bollywood. So which are your favourites ?đ
These are mine :
1) Swades-- My absolute favourite. One of my top ten favourite Bollywood films. đłShahrukh at his finest and best.đ I also loved Gita, Kaveriamma, the postman, Melaram and the music was absolutely fabulous !! IMO, AR rahman's best ones are in this album. EXTREMELY UNDERRATED FILM !!!âď¸ Everything about it was sooo good. And it also had one of the most mature love stories of Bollywood.
2) Chak de India-- Another wonderful film with wonderful acting by Shahrukh and the 16 girls,đ direction by Shimit and minblowing dialogues by Jaideep Sahani. Deserves lots and lots of praise. Emotional, inspiring, outstanding and marvelous film.đ
3) Lagaan-- Kinda overrated but still a gem. Aamir at his best and with very wonderful music.đ Powerful story, unlike the typical British-Indian rivalry. Some standing ovation deserving scenes and dialogues add to it's merit. đ
P.S. I don't understand why people find Swades and Lagaan very long !! đ˛I mean, if a film is good, then what's the problem. I can atleast "waste" my time on good films like these three than sit and watch Salman Khan craps (all the films after 2000) or Dhoom 3 or Ra One or Besharam.đ¤˘
4) Rang De Basanti-- This flick teaches us a lot of things- patriotism, friendship, trust, belief, truthfullness. Just 2 words for this movie- Inspiring & Outstanding.đ
5)Mother India/ Lakshya/ Legend of Bhagat Singh-- Not seen these films too many times, but very well made films. đ
