SHADES OF MIMOSA

''Morning! '' Randhir stretched his arms as he sat up .

He had slept late night , working on some project while sanyukta had slept early .

''Morning!" She replied in a bored manner , her eyes glued to her i-pad.

He rubbed his eyes as he sat on the edge of the bed , searching his slippers.

He walked towards the chair , she was sitting on , and snatched her i-pad.

''Whoa!"

He grabbed her arm and pulled her towards him with a jolt.
She bumped straight into his chest.

He leaned forward to kiss her , when she immediately turned her face towards the right.

He didn't mind and started kissing her neck, removing the locks of her hair.

''Mmm ...you taste so good!" His voice vibrated against her skin, sending tingles down her spine.

That voice!
There was nothing as orgasmic as randhir's morning sleepy voice.

She shivered.

He grazed the skin just above her cleavage. His hands skimming all over her body.
This time she moaned out loud.

''Randdhhiiir!!!" . her hands clutched on to his t shirt , fisting his pocket in her hands.

But then vidushi's words rang in her ears.

She pushed him back and sighed.

''Brush your teeth ! You gross idiot! '' she tried to show as much attitude as possible.

Randhir was taken aback for a second.
That hurt was visible in his eyes.
He frowned.

''This isn't funny sanyukta! Bahot mazak hogya!" He said , extending his arm , telling her to come back.

'' I just took a bath! No way! Go take a bath and then think of kissing me ! Making love comes a lot after! '' she exclaimed curtly.

Randhir was totally stunned.
He had never been humiliated to this extent.

''SHUT UP SANYUKTA! I don't know what has gotten into you!
I never ever thought YOU could behave this way!
I mean that was downright blunt!
Have you forgotten my n number of trousers which have been blood stained just because you had to cuddle more during those days?
Or have you forgotten your morning kisses?
Or the way you burped during some.

But you know what!? These things never mattered to me!
Because I LOVE you!
I don't know how shallow you have become!''

He was totally disgusted.
The hurt was plain visible down his charcoal orbs.
He stormed towards the bath.

Sanyukta was stunned.
He had always tolerated her. No matter WHAT.
She was feeling crap!
Oh.god.

He would never talk to her again.
But she had to maintain her attitude today.

Sanyukta knew Randhir wasn't really like every second boy but-

She had no reason.

''DONT TOUCH ME EVER! '' she shouted .

That was the only thing necessary.
The only thing required.

All sanyukta wanted to do was spread it on his chest and lick it off like a perv.

He had just come out after a shower.
Looking incredibly sexy , the towel around his neck from the back.

He caught her oogling at him and gave her a stern glare.
He was hurt and nothing could be done.


Sanyukta held him in a eyelock which was immediately broken by the continuous bell rings.

He was about to leave when she held his wrist.

''Wear a shirt'' she muttered weakly.
What if it was a girl?!

He jerked back immediately.
''Mind your Own business'' and he went.

She followed him , nevertheless.

The bell might have ringed 5 times more till he reached the door and yanked it open , clearly irritated.

''Veronica!?" He exclaimed , taken aback by her sudden appearance.

Sanyukta was short of words as the next moment veronica rushed into his arms , sobbing loudly.

''He dumped me Randhir! '' she wailed. Cuddling more into him.

Randhir was totally speechless.
First of all he was completely shirtless and secondly veronica had planted herself into his arms like 2 into 2.

''Uhmm! Veronica! Let's move inside! The neighbours will make stories.''

She refused to let go of him , so he slowly walked inside and pushed the door behind him.

After two minutes of silence, he embraced her . slowly rubbing her back , but trying to keep minimum contact.

''What are you doing in mumbai!?"

''I and Rahul had come to MUMBAI for a trip , but he left me stranded HERE!
That bas***d dumped me!
I didn't know where to go!
I only know you Here..
So I came to you' she hiccuped.

''Its okay! Stop crying!"

W*F! was all sanyukta was thinking.

"Come sit." , as he escorted her to the couch still holding her.

Fumes of anger escaped Sanyukta's ears as she witnessed the not so pleasant sight in front of her.
He continued to rub Veronica's back trying to comfort her when Sanyukta was in her most uncomfortable situation.

She was gritting her teeth almost on the verge of grinding them.
"It's okay Veronica.I know how you are feeling." , Randhir calming her.

"Why did you get dumped too ?" , wiping her tears with curiosity.

"Well not dumped.Let's just say I know how it feels to be hurt." , watching Sanyukta from the corner of his eye.

That certainly didn't go unnoticed by Sanyukta.
Was he taunting me ?
That too in front of this characterless Veronica,she thought to herself folding her arms in anger.

"Awww...Randhir!!!" , Veronica lifted her hands to cup his cheeks intending to console him.

"Uhh..Uhh ! " , Sanyukta interrupted before she could touch him."Veronica, why don't you take your sad little story and your whiny little face OUT OF MY APARTMENT !"

That escalated quickly,thought Randhir as he buried his face into his palms.

"Whaat? You are so mean! " , and she starts crying all over again, digging more into Randhir.

Sanyukta immediately cursed herself , not because she was rude but because her comment caused this!

"Okay ! Okay ! Relax Veronica.Let me take you out for lunch alright ? Everything will be fine." Grabbing his shirt and glaring at Sanyukta with the You're-so-dead look.

"Wait..Whaaa.." , they didn't even wait for Sanyukta to complete her sentence as she watched Veronica clinging onto Randhir and leaving their apartment.
She just stormed off into her room and dug her head deep into the pillow,, wetting it.

Later in the Evening,

She woke up with the sound of the television in the living room. She stood by the door with her puppy-dog face watching Randhir aimlessly staring at the TV.
He didn't even look at her.
Sanyukta felt terrible, immensely terrible.She realized her idea of playing hard-to-get affected her the most.

She wanted him more than he wanted her and there was no shame in admitting that.He was hers after all ? Was he ever planning on leaving her ? No!

Why did we ever listen to that tramp , Vidushi!
She probably wanted this to happen , which definitely HAD happened .

Then why play such games.Her mind was flooded with such thoughts.She realized she had to fix this.
She had hurt Randhir bad.
That guilt was eating her insides.

She slowly walked towards him and sat on his lap facing him blocking his view.

"Sanyukta ! Hatto." , he irritatingly said.

"No." , she cupped his face with her hands.

He knew he couldn't argue with her right now.He just switched off the tv with the remote and started looking elsewhere ignoring her.

"Sorry ! Randhir." , she whispered.A tear trailing down her cheek.He looked at her for a second worried and looked away when he realized he shouldn't fall prey to this.

When he didn't respond , she went closer and kissed his cheek.

"Randhir, you can kiss me whenever you want.I did not mean it .
You know na . '' she sobbed loudly.

''I don't even know why I said it.I was just playing hard to get.", her cries got louder.His silence making her impatient.

She kissed him all over his face slowly one my one like in slow-motion.

When he refused to even look at her she finally forced her lips on his with so much force.The kiss was literally screaming for an apology.She stopped and kissed him again and again.

He raised his hand to hold her waist,but his ego stopped him.

He was genuinely hurt by her behaviour.When he refused to reciprocate she got fed up and got off him.It was like kissing a corpse.

She decided to call it a day and barged into her room, still feeling guilty.her mind was racing.
She had sniffed him and smelt ladies perfume.
Was it really over?

She wanted to sleep it off but all she ended up doing was counting blurred sheep in her head trying to fall asleep.

A while later she felt someone on her bed and quickly shut her eyes pretending to sleep.

It couldn't be anyone other than Randhir ,she knew the feeling,the feeling when he is somewhere around.

He slowly dragged his hands along her waist from the back and pulled her closer to him by her stomach as she was sleeping sideways.
He rested his head near her neck placing a soft kiss before dozing off.Sanyukta didn't react to it even though she was awake as she sensed that this wasn't cuddling of forgiveness but of pity.

He hadn't forgiven her , she knew that.

She knew that by his mere touch.An hour later when she thought Randhir had fallen asleep she turned around to face him with his arm still around her.

She lovingly moved away his strands of hair falling on his eyes interrupting his sleep.
She traced her fingers down his face slowly wanting to feel him.He seemed so peaceful and she was doing everything to take that everything him?What was wrong with her.

I don't deserve him.I don't deserve him at all.We always fight because of something I do.Even that crazy ass Veronica seems to know his importance,she said to herself.

Tears strained down her face.
As her fingers grazed over her lips she felt a strong grip on her wrist stopping her hand's movement.When she realized he was awake she quickly pretending to sleep again.

A clumsy attempt which didn't go unnoticed by Randhir obviously.
"I know you are awake." , still holding her hand and moving them up and down his cheek.

She sheepishly opened her eyes like an idiot realizing her stupidity.

"Randhir , should I pack my bags and leave?" She asked innocently, her breath stuck in her throat.
,she felt his grip losing on her hand and he literally threw her hand off him.

"Randhir ?" , she asked.

"Ya.Please get out.", and turned around to resume his sleep.He was blunt but she thought she deserved it.Little did she know that he was actually mad at her for even having the thought of leaving him.

"I - its raining." She howled , hiccuping.'' 'I'll leave tomorrow''.

Next day,

Randhir woke up to face an empty cupboard with a small note saying , "Emptied my wardrobe for Veronica. ="( "

Randhir tore the note and went to the drawing room to find her all dressed up to leave.Before he could inquire about the nonsense she was upto, she spoke up.

"Uhh-- I am leaving. " she was still crying.
'I - the spices are in the second drawer from the right.''her voice cracked.
''I stocked the fridge. The second section of the freezer has chicken. And the maid will come all the seven days , I paid her extra.And the only thing remaining is your tie. I'll teach you before leaving. You have a meeting tomorrow ''

She moved forward, holding one in her hand.

He stopped her saying he knew how to tie one.

Honestly,the last time he attempted to tie one it looked like a potato dangling from his neck.

She, slightly dejected left it on the couch and proceeded towards her suitcase.

"Bye Randhir." , she sadly smiled and dragged her bag.He didn't respond.She took tiny little steps and repeated herself."Randhir ! I am leaving! " and turned around again to leave.Took two more steps.

He slapped his forehead.Itna Melodrama? Of course drama karegi,poori family ne jo PhD kari hai dramebaazi mein,his mind told him.
"Randhir mein sach mein jaa rahi hoon.I am leaving." , taking a tiny step again.
"Stop Sanyukta ! " , he called out.
"Haan Randhir bolo! " , she turned around in excitement.
"Sanyukta ! Woh.. You forgot your... umbrella. It will rain soon,you should take it." , he held it out to her.

Sanyukta's glee faded faster than it came on.

She shut her mouth in sadness and slowly went towards him to take it without making any eye contact trying to hide her tears which her now ceaselessly trailing down her face.

When she held it to take it away from him , he pulled the other end of the umbrella making her crash his manly chest.

He didn't waste a second and held her by her waist, throwing the umbrella and kissed her with urgency holding her face with both his hands.

He kissed her repeatedly with small kisses.
"It took me all this effort to get you to kiss me like this?" , holding his collar.

"Tumhe toh drama karna acha lagta hai.I was just letting you do what you like so much.From what tv serial did you learn all this ?"

"Mera Pati aur Woh" , she confessed playing with his shirt buttons.

''What!!!?" He burst out laughing.
"OH God.Why did only I have to get such a melodramatic girlfriend.",shaking his head in disbelief.
"Be thankful that I can tolerate your nonsense.Koi aur hota toh he would have left you god knows when.", mocking her."And you were thinking of leaving me ?"

She just looked at him expressionless.But she knew this time he had forgiven her.

She was happy.

"You know I can't live without you na Sanyukta.Why do you do this then ?" , revealing his vulnerability.

"Sorry ...Sorry Randhir." , she hugged him tightly.

"Oh and I forgot to mention.I hadn't brushed my teeth right now when I kissed you,is that a problem now ?" , teasing her caressing her hair and holding her tight.

"No! Never Randhir.Any chance you want to give me more of that?" , she looked at him smirking.

"Not here." , and lifted her proceeding towards the bedroom and shutting the door behind them.

''RANDHIR!!! '' she screamed on the top of her voice.

''What NOW!?""

''I COMPLETELY FORGOT! Why was your shirt emanating LADIES perfume?!? '' she was so disgusted by that veronica.

''OH! I AND VERONICA MADE OUT IN THE WASHROOM OF THE RESTAURANT! SORRY I FORGOT TO TELL YOU!" It was sarcasm personified.

''Hhhumph! I'll kill you!!"

''YOU KNOW WHY SANYUKTA! SO STOP OVERREACTING BY SUCH A HUGE MARGIN!"

2 days later :

Sanyukta was sitting on his lap , strangling him.
She had just come back from a party.
Randhir hadn't accompanied her, he had some papers to work upon.

After another string of kisses, he sniffed and frowned.

Sanyukta smirked.

''Ms Agarwal! Spraying my deo on yourself and trying to get me jealous is going to get you nowhere!" He started laughing.

''Pch! '' sanyukta wanted to stomp her foot!
He always spoiled her plan.

''F*** YOU!" She indignantly , shouted.

''With pleasure!" and he pushed her on the bed covering her body with his.
