As a star, he's twice as big as Aamir and SRK. Look at the makers SRK/Aamir have worked with and compare it to Salman. Salman can make the worst of films work at the BO. Aamir and SRK can't, even when they work with the best of filmmakers.

Aamir and SRK are both better actors than Salman in certain ways, but they've never experienced the the raw frenzy that Salman has experienced in his career. Aamir *always* needs big directors/brand to make his film work. SRK needs the same. Salman doesn't.

Salman's f'kin Jai Ho directed by that awful Sohail grossed as much as SRK's JTHJ directed by YC. Speaks volumes.
