pls start a forum for saregamapa

Has anyone considered a separate forum for saregamapa???need to start one.

I fully agree with you Chitra - The thread is becoming too big - and there is lot of interest for this program.

Please see whta I have written on the thread just now -

- Firstly, I was surprised to see the new judges - what a fall from judges of shiv-hari calibre! - there seemed to be little respect for them from mentors. These two have been judges before and have several times goofed up results. Alka and Jagjit both suffer from some syndrome. Incidentally Jagjit had a concert in Sydney yesterday and for the third time - it was a flop - like Ghulam ali sahab - his voice has deserted him. It is not a coincidence that two years back I had the opportunity of listening to him in London, where again - his voice was so bad that - his musicians sang most of the song with him! He should gracefully retire. Anyways - they are my personal views - sorry if some one felt offended. I just felt that the humility of great Shiv-Hari was missing and there was some sense of displeasure among the artists and the mentors at the presence of the mediocre judges.

- Back to the show - Twinkle was the star performer for the night - you could have seen the reaction of Ismail Darbar on the result. Editing of the program was abrupt - which shows tempers must have run high. Dilsahd is a wonderful singer but he gets sympathy votes inadvertantly. There was contradiction in mentors opinion - they want variety - singers should not be typed but for Dilshad they have waived this thinking.


- The yellow card round would be shown next Friday here - please update what happened in that - thanks - One more request please keep you opinion free from any bias - we must exchange transparent and honest views."

a little off topic - we heard jagjit in toronto in mar 2004 and he could not sing properly and he kept blaming the hall acoustics !!

I have been seeing Jagjit (with Chitra Singh in his earlier days) singing for nearly 25 years now. At the very beginnig itslef I felt both of them were singing besur and never bothered to listen to him again. Wonder how this guy has become so famous all these years!?!

Comparitively, his contemporaries like Anup Jalota etc. are really talented. Well this my personal opinion.
