It's been only a month since the release of The Fault In Our Stars. The movie that outshone the novel has been loved by cinephiles and critics alike. No wonder, the producers Fox Star has planned its Bollywood remake. A tragic love story, after all, is right up Bollywood's alley.
The movie that narrates the story of a sixteen-year-old cancer patient, who falls in love with a former basketball player, also a cancer survivor, has been well adapted in Hollywood with Shailene Woodley and Ansel Elgort playing the lead.
As per Fox Star Studios CEO, the movie resonates with the emotions of today's youth and has found "appeal across audience demographics". The producers are hugely excited to be adapting the film for Bollywood and can't wait to get started.
We are sure they must have started their hunt for the leads as well. While the Hollywood version has fresh faces, we doubt the Bollywood remake will ride on the shoulders of the two newcomers. Meanwhile, we can't help but think who would be perfect as the alluring Hazel and adorable Augustus.

RANBIR KAPOOR-KATRINA KAIF
They may be a bit old to play the teens, but this is a Bollywood version and stars do matter. Ranbir Kapoor looks charming in goofy and fun-loving characters, but we can't forget his serious role in Rockstar, Raajneeti and the lover boy character in Saawariya. As Augustus he can breathe life into the movie. Katrina Kaif as his ladylove Hazel need not gesticulate much. The real-life couple will look good together in this film. What do you guys say?
KRITI SANON-ARMAAN JAIN
These two actors made their debut around the same time, and we think they should pair up on screen. Armaan Jain being the vibrant Kapoor lad will look the part and can prove himself as an adorable lover Augustus. Kriti Sanon can step into the shoes of charming Hazel.
RANVEER SINGH-DEEPIKA PADUKONE
Ranveer Singh and Deepika Padukone were perfect as star-crossed lovers Ram and Leela in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Ram-Leela. Again they are teaming up and that, too, for a period drama Bajirao Mastani. Thus, we think a movie set in the contemporary times, sans rustic backdrop, can duplicate their real-life romance. Don't you think so?
JACQUELINE FERNANDEZ-SALMAN KHAN
Post Kick, the fans of Bhai wants to see him with Jacqueline Fernandez. Salman Khan as a cancer survivor and amputee Augustus can easily take his fans to his Kyunki and Tere Naam days, and wouldn't Jackie will make a perfect co-star.
