Why the latest fall in TRP is wonderful news

To be sure I do not know the TRP. Someone said that it had declined in the last 3 days of the previous week. Anyway, it is still only 3rd on the ratings chart and that is great news.

Remember the Benazir track, it was terrible but the ratings were stellar all along, the highest ratings over a stretch that JA has ever got. Then, one week the ratings began to fall and the CV's made a satisfactory conclusion to the track almost immediately.

Now with the Atifa track, the CV's have taken an incredible gamble in bashing Jalal like a street dog on it's unluckiest day and still no big increase in TRP that they had hoped. In fact the TRP has most probably decreased.

Ekta and the CV's must reading the TRP report right now and wondering how to salvage the situation, interrupted every few seconds by phone calls from angry ZEE wallas, who see their top rated serial going down the drain.

I expect immediate remedial measures. Maybe a promo as early as this Saturday to show that all is well, maybe even changes in script to please viewers. Obviously, the intrigue or suspense is not working to attract viewers, so no need to wait. After all this is the ratings game, if things don't work out, you change.

The CV's need to to be given a fresher course in JA Maths.
Out of a total average viewership of 10 million, about 10% have left the serial because of poor portrayal of Akbar. They are not coming back till they see some positive changes.

Of the remaining, 10-15% have stopped watching from last week because of the atrocious track. Now, the serial will lose even more as Jalal's behavior becomes unbearable.

All this adds up to a lot of viewers that have left or taken a short sabbatical, and this is not a new serial so everyone who is interested in it already watches it.

The CV's need to rethink their strategy. You cannot attract casual viewers by bashing the main lead, at least not at this late stage in the serial. They need to understand that the Benazir situation is not the same as Atifa. This time, viewers will not be kind, too much water has flowed under the bridge.
