Mumbai: Bollywood beauty Kareena Kapoor, who is currently gearing up for her next release Singham Returns' recently spoke about her desire to have children in an interview with Mumbai Mirror.
The actress turned down a number of films this year which gave rise to rumours and speculations that Bebo might be pregnant. Bashing these rumours she said, "Would I have signed Kabir Khan's Bajrangi Bhaijaan, which will be 2015's Eid release opposite Salman (Khan) a few days ago if I was expecting?"
"I am a responsible actress. I don't understand why people immediately jump to such conclusions when a married actress refuses a film. Accepting or refusing a film is an actor's prerogative. No one should intrude on his/her privacy."
When asked about starting a family she said, "I do want a child. But bringing up one is a huge responsibility. I am not ready for motherhood yet."
She then added, "Saif and I have decided not to have a baby for the next two years. Right now, we are completely focussed on our careers and doing up our new house. The child, whenever it comes, will be my life."
The actress also slammed rumours of her sister Karisma's plans to remarry businessman Sandeep Toshniwal.
"It's better to stay apart in peace than to live together and fight. But Lolo will never remarry. Leave her alone, her divorce hasn't come through yet. It's a traumatic time for her," she said.
