I found her to be extremely pretty.
Her and Kimi. Mads was all right and sri devi's eyes were scary huge!
Plus I loved Meenakshi's that one movie with anil kapoor 😆

She was way too dramatic. Its like every time she emoted, she had gotten shot.

She had a pretty successful reel life jodi with Sunny Deol though with Ghayal, Damini, Ghatak, Kyshatriya etc and an equally unsuccessful real life jodi with 400 lb'er Rajkumar Santoshi.

Well i don't remember much of her. She has been part of many successful movies, but she's very much forgettable. Her screen presence was poor, she isn't anyone who will remember ALWAYS like Sridevi, Rekha or Madhuri. But she was VERY beautiful.

I only remember her in Damini and Ghar Ek Mandir with Anil Kapoor because they come on TV a lot (Zee Cinema 😆). Otherwise i don't remember much of her.

80s-I only follow movies of Sridevi and some of Rekha's ..rest i don't care. I'm more a 90s person 😳 😃

It was tough to survive then as it was transitional era. Older stars like Rekha and Hema still going strong. Lot of new girls like Rati Agnihotri, Reena Roy, Ranjita, Anita Raj, Sridevi, Jayaprada, Bhanupriya, Amrita Singh, Poonam Dhillon, Farha, Madhuri, Juhi etc.

Too competitive. Females really needed to hold their own in mostly male dominated films. Meenakshi is talented but lacked spark and spunk.

My favorite song of hers is Lambi Judaai from Hero.

Hey one correction atominis -

Reena Roy was not new to Meenakshi, or she wasn't from the Rati/Ranjita/Anita's era.

Reena is very much of the Rekha/Hema/Zeenat's era -70s. She was part of many successful movies of the 70s and early 80s before quitting movies and marrying that cricketer. She was actually among the top-4 heroines of the 70s -Hema, Rekha, Zeenat, Reena, they dominated Bollywood then. Rekha was the second heroine in Asha Jyoti, where Reena played the lead.

She was very gorgeous, great dancer, had amazing screen presence and a great actress too, but she ruined her career for Shatru. She mostly did movies with Jeetu and Shatru only, later with Kamal. The only heroine of the 70s-80s who never worked opp. Amitabh.

I never understood why she didn't became as big as Hema, as i think Reena was much of a better actress than Hema. May be because she opted outta many big projects with much popular heroes like AB, Rajesh, Dharmendra etc.

Then she again tried for comeback in the 90s, but it was very late by then as she became huge and fat.

I agree she was beautiful. She acted well too. I also agree she should have handled her career better. She did have spark onscreen.

I loved her in Damini. Oe of my favorite movies b/c it really had such a strong, independent female character. I wish more movies were written like that. And she was such a good actor. Her dialouge delivery was strong.

Unfortunately her dancing abilities were brilliant but overshadowed by Sri Devi's and Madhuri's.

have seen some movies of her. damini being one of them. found her bilkul thandi. nothing special about her. average to below average performer. she danced well, seemed like a trained dancer. thats it. i heard sridevi was the first choice for damini...how i wish she was.
