Vanii - What? (hurriedly checks the time)

Roshni - You weren't getting up only. (laughs)

Vanii (angrily) - You nearly gave me an heart-attack! Shivvu ka birthday khatam hone do. I'll arrange your funeral.

Roshni - Haa haa kar dena!We'll think about that later. Call up Harshu and Nana. Put them on the conference. I'll call up Rii.

A message, "Must be from that Farzi again", thought Randhir. He didn't even bother to check the message. After all, he's ignoring her, right? She's been constantly messaging him since the past half an hour.

*beep* *beep*

Convinced that she's not going to give up, he switched off the phone, threw it on his bed and went out of his hostel room. It was way past midnight and the grounds of FITE were completely empty. He went to one of the benches and sat down. Thoughts about what had happened in the morning came rushing back to him.

***Flashback***

Mechanical Lab

The sound of machines and the smell of grease filled the room. Randhir and Sanyukta were working together, and they seemed very happy. After all, the once mortal enemies were now best friends. Randhir couldn't help stealing glances at her. "Damn. She's so beautiful. No guy can possibly refuse her", he thought. Suddenly he remembered about Sameer. "Why did he suddenly break their engagement? Wasn't he hell bent on marrying her?" He decided that the best thing to do was clarify his doubts with her.

"How did your engagement break, Sanyukta?"

Those words made her freeze for a second. "Uhh... Can you pass me the spanner, Randhir?" She tried to ignore that question.

"Main tumse kuch pooch raha hoon, Sanyukta. How did your engagement break?" He asked, louder this time.

"Yeh sab purani baatein chhodo na Randhir? It doesn't matter much now" She clearly couldn't tell him the reason.

Just then, her phone rang. SAMEER! "Damn. Isse bhi abhi phone karna tha?" She cursed her bad luck and hurried to take the phone before Randhir saw the caller's name.

But he had already seen it. His face had a confused expression. "Sameer? Why is he still calling you? Is there something you're hiding from me?" He was clenching his fists.

"Wo...woh Randhir"

"ANSWER ME DAMMIT!"

The look on her face gave him all his answers. Vidushi was right. Her engagement hadn't been broken, it had just been postponed.

"I hate you, Sanyukta", he muttered and went out of the lab.

***Flashback ends***

He didn't know why she lied to him and he didn't want to know either. He hated her for lying to him. "Main hoon tumhaare saath, Randhir", he remembered her words. Lies. Lies, everywhere! She was also leaving him soon. Just like everyone else.

Just then he felt someone's touch on his shoulder, breaking his chain of thoughts.

He knew that touch. Sanyukta.

"Randhir, just listen to me, once. Please?" she clearly wasn't going to give up.

"I don't wanna listen to you. You lied to me. You're also going to leave me and go, like everyone else. I hate you" His eyes welled up with tears.

"Just listen to me Ran..."

"GO AWAY!"

She caught his hand tightly. "Let me explain, Randhir, please?"

The mere touch of her hand on his, kind of calmed him down. He looked at her, and saw that her eyes had filled up with tears too.

"I'm sorry I lied to you about my engagement. You were just so distracted and lying to you was the only way to get you back on track. I'd decided on telling you the truth soon after you were back to being normal, but you seemed so happy, and I didn't have the heart to steal your happiness away from you again..."

"That's exactly what you did by hiding the truth from me" he cut in.

"I know. And I'm very sorry. My engagement hasn't been broken till now, but it will be, soon", she said, with a small smile.

"What do you mean by that?" He was confused.

"Come on, Randhir. I'm sure you'll try every possible way to break my engagement." She was smiling even more now.

"Why would I do that? Go get married and do whatever you want. I don't care", he lied.

"Really ? You don't care?" she asked with an evil smirk.

"What are you exactly trying to convey?" he was irritated now.

"You think I don't remember what happened yesterday? Yes, we were drunk, but I still remember everything clearly!" She noticed the expression of his face changing "I love you Sanyukta", she said, mocking him.

His face had turned crimson by now. He just stared at her, not knowing what to say.

She burst into laughter, seeing the shocked expression on his face.

"I didn't actually mean that...I was just...No..."

"Stop making excuses, Randhir. I very well know you meant it. Wow. Who knew that my best friend of a few days will suddenly turn into my boyfriend?"

That last word made him freeze. "Wh..What...Boyfriend?"

"Obviously, Randhir. You love me, and I love you. That makes us boyfriend-girlfriend, doesn't it?" she chuckled.

He was way too shocked for words. He just kept staring at her with wide eyes.

"Start making plans on how to break my engagement from today only, ok? Good night" Saying so, she turned and started walking back to her room.

He still wasn't it any state to talk. Suddenly, she stopped on her tracks, and came back to him. She gave him a quick peck on his cheeks. "I love you, idiot" she said and ran away.

That stupid smile on his face was there to stay for the rest of the night.

Okay here comes my wish..

One day, randomly you scrapped me... Hi? NO! You told me you hate me. I was like, "What the hell? Without even knowing me why the hell is this girl telling me she hates me!" Then I thought that maybe you did that by mistake and then I saw the length of your scrap. "This cannot be a mistake now!" 🤣 and I scrapped you back.

That was how we started scrapping and talking.

I love my FF, not because I wrote it but because you scrapped me because it spoiled your day's, no no, nights' studies. xP But that one scrap turned out to be the best memory of our IF life. :) We started talking and talking and talking endlessly all night but didn't get bored for a while atleast! We never felt the need to introduce eachother formally either. We introduced eachother maybe after we got comfy talking to eachother, maybe after like 4-5 pages of scraps! 🤣 Only one day of scrapping and we became the best of friends. I loved those holidays when we exclusively used to come online only for eachother, only to scrap eachother.

I never thought I'd make friends younger to me and even if I did I never thought theat we would be so close. You proved me wrong. :) So, you, Shivangi, are my bestfriend cum sister here on IF. I love you like crazy and you do know that! :*

You remember? We are eachother's TB's. (Thousandth Scrappers) xP

We have also given eachother the LS.. 🤣 LS? Guess? Longest scrap dude. 🤣

We have always been eachother's constant supporters... We have similar thoughts too! Same thinking about SHQ! Same habit of laziness, pestering people for updates. :P

Anyways, coming to the main point... (Side point kuch zyaada hi lamba ho gaya! :P)
