Recap : Adi is waiting when he hears the sound of a woman's Payal and he looks in the direction and sees her. There she is an epitome of grace and beauty and even today has the power to turn his heart to molten lava, watching her glide down the staris so gracefully...................
Part 27.................................................
Nandini is reading a letter while she climbs down mindless that she could fall her anklets making that beautiful sound with every step she takes. She is unaware of two eyes watching her step ready to break her fall if she does.... and with that thought stumble she does. She misses a step and is about to slip sown a couple of steps when two strong arms protect her from hitting the floor. He is quiet, but she blabbers, rubbing her sore arm which banged against the bannister and without looking at who has saved her "Oh, thnak you. I wasn't looking where I was walking. I appreciate your saving me......." Her voice trails away to a stop and she simply stares at Adi a stunned disbelief on her face!!! "You, no, it can't be!" and then a more firm and angry "what are you doing here? Why have you come after so many years.." Adi cuts her "Exactly 5 years 5 months 36 hours and 20 minutes now to be precise!!! Nandini you still look as beautiful as ever! What are you doing in this house?" She cuts him again saying "Its none of your business! Get out before my family comes and finds you! My b..." Dev appears as if from nowhere raising all alarma bells for Nandini and she gets flustered. "Bhabhi? Why are you so angry? Aditya kya keh diya bhabhi ko tumne!!??" And Dev stares from one stunned face to another. Nandini is stunned as Dev knows Aditya and Adi as Dev calls her 'bhabhi'!!! He thinks Nandini is Dev's bhabhi! Karan's wife!!! Oh my God, he feels the pain for her as he knows the whole story! But how on earth is he going to explain it all to Dev! If he comes to know about.... no, Dev should never find out, only for her sake he should nver find out about them! Never for the sake of her homour and he still loves her!
Dev shakes Adi, "Adi what is wrong? Bhabhi please say something, it looks as if you have seen a ghost suddenly! Are you okay?" She snaps out of her world and she smiles at Dev and asks "Meri chodo how are you? You look happy!" Disbelief again in her eyes. "How can you Dev after all Kaajjal.." He cuts her our pretending to be angry, "I don't want to hear about her any more! No one should take her name else they too are free to leave this house!" Now its Adi's turn to be stunned by this face of Dev. What's going on? That puzzles him and Dev winks at him surruptitiously! Adi is almost gaping while Dev says "Bhabhi meet my old Harvard friend Aditya Garewal. Adi this is Karan's wife Nandinibhabhi. She is more like my mother than bhabhi!" His eyes moisten with the thoughts of mom and Nandini touches his shoulder looking lovingly at Dev and shakes her head as if saying no more tears.
She leaves saying she will arrange for refreshments and brings tea just the way Aditya loved it, sweet and lots of milk. Dev is surprised and says "Bhabhi mein teen-chaar din kya ghar se gayaa aap meri pasand bhi bhool gayien. I like my tea less sweet with just a dash of milk!" Without thinking she blabbers "Adu.. likes it... I meant your friend told me his preference. Sorry dev, I wasn't thinking. We are all so worried for you and now..." Dev can't bear it anymore and asks "Where is Veerbhai? Adi wanted to meet him since he knows Veerbhai." Nandini nods her head and says "He is at Radiocity. somebody called him for some signs and so...." Dev is satisfied that nobody knows much here and simply says, "Okay we are going now. Have an appointment and we can't miss that." Chachi enters and sees Dev" Apni chachi sa mile bagair jaoge Dev?" Dev gets up and rushes to her and touches her feet "Nahi chachi, bhala mein kabhie apni pyaari chachi ko bhool sakta hoon kya?" She lovingly touches his hair with tears welling in her eyes and Dev stops her "Nahin chachi, koi sawaal mat puchiyega, jinke mere paas is waqt koi jawaab nahin hain. Par waqt aane par unke jawaab zarror milenge aap sab ko. Sab ka haq banta hain! But for now, I have to go I am getting late. Somebody is waiting for me" He again touches both chachi's and Nandini's feet and leaves. Adi stares for just a few moments into Nandini'd eyes over Dev's bent body and there is a promise in his eyes and they leave.................
Ameesha has not missed anything! Every look and word has been heard and registered by her and she smiles looking evilly from the top of the stairs. Hmmmmmmm "Adu" and Nandini bhabhi..... Hmmmm wonder what Karan will think now! Hmmmmmm................
Here Dev and Adi reach the beach house and Dev has explained his plan and why he behaved so with all his family and the reason for supposedly throwing Kaajjal out. He is fearing for her safety and has not yet told her about the last threat. Karan had phoned on his cell and informed me "That Karan thought me to be intelligent by throwing our mom's killer out of his life meaning Kaajjal. Now it shall be easy for Karan to kill both her and me" Adi is shocked. And Kaajjal overhears Dev and lets out a shocked intake of her breath. Dev turns to find her standing scared and shivering. He rushes to her and tries to pacify her but she is shaking like a leaf in the howling winds. He takes her inside the bedroom and hugs her first. She bursts into tears simply repeating his name Dev, Dev..... He says "shhhh...... no." He cups her face in his hands and makes her look into his eyes and he slowly talking with his eyes manages to soothe her fears away and all the while holds her now steady gaze with his confident and firm yet love-filled and warm magnetic eyes. Tears well up in her eyes on which she has no control when Dev is around and she hugs him tightly . Dev collects her in his arms and she feels the safe warm cocoon. They break apart albeit reluctantly as they hear Veer come in. They walk out arm in arm and Veer on seeing Kaajal that too with her safely held by Dev, is stunned!!!.................................
Preview : Dev and Adi set off as planned!!!! And here Nandini gets a phone from Kaajjal..............
