Hi All!!! I sometimes wonder why it is so that we never fight for unity. Why people are more driven when they want a separate land or Identity. Except for Berlin Wall I haven't come across any example in the history where people actually broke the wall between two countries and made them as one. I mean people of any two different countries/territories actually taking on their respective establishments or leaders, and confronting them to become one. If there is any such example where the leaders of different faiths are enticing people to go separate ways but the people want to stay as one.

Again!

- Should leaders focus on uniting territories / countries to one (instead of fighting to establish indepandant or separate entity in the name of faith, selfish reasons(power)/ religion etc...)??PS - not trying to focus on religious aspect here.Thanks.

nice topic modesty 👏.

IMO, It would be better for the leaders to remain friendly yet independent. If they are separate entities, there is a reason for that. "Unity in diversity" looks spectacular on the unified nation's CV.. but we know the underlying truth.
I Think separated is fine, yet I agree that they should come together to eliminate hatred if any, instead of feeding it

Nice Topic! Hope to see more coming from you Modesty. Welcome to DM! Member introduction post, please introduce yourself for all of us to know you.

@Topic -

I agree with QT POV.

IMO stratergic division of territories in order to accomplish growth makes sense. Solely based on selfish power surge is . Too much unifying and several leaders managing it, without clear diversification of roles and responsibilities plus power surge can be disastorous overall.

Hi All!!

First of all I wanna thank all of you who've responded to my post and appreciating it too. This is my first post @DM. My name is Manju. I am truly honored to be part of this section.

Now coming back to my post. I am not kinda advocating that all the nations should become a single entity as such or the nations bearing the same culture, language et al should become one.

The thing that baffles me is when given a choice to co-exist peacefully or go separate ways, why our so call ed leaders advocate separatism instead of unity.

There is hardly any example where the nation was broken into two and the emerging two new nations have become more friendly than before. Instead they become sworn enemies of each other. India is one such example and the other example is Yugoslavia where now Serbia, Bosnia and Croatia do not see eye to eye. Don't you think it becomes even worse? Now each nation has two more enemies to deal with.

Hope I do not sound repetitive.

Thanks again. TC.

It does become worse and especially since the neighbouring countries begin to harbour hatred. But unification could mean more rouble imo as I already mentioned! TC- subhagya / QT

Thanks Subhagya. I am not talking about unification and reunification. What I am saying is there should be resistance to partition of a nation. Leaders should have the audacity and will to generate brotherhood amongst the masses. If a nation is split into two it only leads to more bitterness. Even Abraham Lincoln preferred to have a civil war rather than see his country splitting into two.
He fought the forces who could have divided his country. I strongly feel tis a myth that the separatism could lead to a friendlier ambience in the region. It only creates more enemies.

Its all about peoples ego. people want to have more control - more countries better chance of control. unity means possible relinquishment... Dont wonder this is a veri sensible happening in this world...😊
