I just want to ask why do people search original Mahabharat in a serial?? Makers have not made this serial to get tallied by the original version...Creative people never adapt anything word by word...they adapt and make things according to what they have interpreted from the original story..

This series has been made for entertainment...Appreciate the story telling and the acting of actors...Tallying this to original Mahabharat is of no worth...Director is not committing any sin by not depicting Mahabharat word by word but telling a little modified version

Simple reason 1. This is a hindu scripture and deserves utmost respect, can u imagine the Koran being subject to this??
Simple reason 2. They shouldn't have called it "Mahabharat"
😉

I have no problem with Star making entertainment, but this level of distortion should be clearly acknowledged and avoided. Potentially they are giving a completely wrong impression to those not so familiar with the true Mahabharat.

Do not take it wrongly, but if respect to Hinduism is the issue then Mahabharat should never have been depicted through a TV series, in the first place itself (be it Star Mahabharat or the older one) as its a scripture and it is not meant for entertainment...

Makers never claimed that it is the original version of Mahabaharat...That's why the disclaimer is there.. And I believe modifying mahabharat is doing no harm to the respect of Hinduism or Mahabharat script...

In my view they took the script of Mahabharat and modified it into something good (maybe better) and that's why I appreciate them.. Ofcourse had they shown something which is absolutely wrong then your points might have been valid, but the concerns you are raising is simply criticizing the creativity..

Many people might not like the modifications but they can be a little less critic about it and view it through artistic vision.. And don't worry its not teaching any wrong preachings to someone who is seeing Mahabharat for the first time..In the end the good wins over evil- that is the main part 😛😛

When scriptures are made into entertainment, even with disclaimer, the main theme should not erode from the actual teachings. Young minds are watching these serials, portraying information that is far from actual scripture will cause wrong understanding. Entertainment needs creativity, I agree but not at the cost of changing the scripture.
Please don't bash me. I have young children and siblings at home. Every time they watch the episodes, my parents and I need to be prepared to answer all the zillion questions that pops out. We keep saying, this is entertainment, creativity and TRP play huge part. Then, we go out to proof what the actual scripture says (if there such thing as actual scripture 😕).
