Today's Take - Past and Present
undefined

Just when I decided to watch Rangrasiya as a completely new show, and made my peace with it, the cvs decided that they weren't going to let us forget Paro after all. 😲

So an episode full of memories ... all the more poignant because they were understated ... the unspoken sadness that never quite leaves Rudra's eyes, even when he smiles at his son ... the soft sheen of tears in Maithili's eyes at the mere mention of Paro ... the longing in Dhruv's eyes whenever his father speaks about his mother, when he gazes at her picture ... the eagerness with which he questions Maithili about his mother. Paro is alive in Rudra's heart and Dhruv's mind. And both long for her with equal fervency.

Today the episode pace slowed down from the frenetic pace of the last couple of weeks. It was a decent watch. And for the first time, the cv's took some time out for celebration ... two days celebrating Dhruv's birthday!

Rudra Dhruv
A father and son living together ... deep love between them, concealing a deep sorrow. Both miss Paro deeply ... Rudra misses his soulmate, his wife, his love, the mother of his child ... his other half ... the woman who would have been so much better a parent than he is, despite his best efforts ...

And Dhruv misses the woman his father and his beloved maasi talk so fondly about ... the mother he never knew, except for the first brief month of his life ... the woman who planted a rose bush for him, so that he could enjoy the fragrance and beauty all his life ... roses from that bush now grace Paro's picture every year, momentoes of love from father and son.

Both hide their pain, smile for each other ... when Dhruv makes his birthday wish, Rudra remembers his own.

And both their wishes are the same.

Paro.

Mohini Sumer Shatadi Koel 😆
Mohini has got her just desserts .. a grand daughter who is her mirror image. 😆 Koel seems to be her grandmother's carbon copy 😆

So we get some crackling interactions between Mohini, Sumer and Shatabdi, and their little imp Koel. Sumer and Shatabdi are well settled into married life. Shatabdi has started an achaar business in competition with her saasuma ... and Sumer is well and truly stuck between the two women. Of the two, Shatabdi seems to have the upper hand ... so Mohini is well and truly served with her just desserts. Except that she just won't give up!

Past and present ... Paro and Myrah ...
Maithili tells Dhruv about his mother

Little Dhruv made a wish for his birthday ... Paro. He wants his mother back.
Koel, with the directness typical of a child, asks him how that's possible ... his mother has gone to God. Poor Dhruv downcast for a moment ... but with his mother's optimism, making the best of things ... he'll make do with someone like her.
And Maithili, mother to both the kids, sits down to tell them about what a woman like Paro would be.

Interspersed with the entry of Myrah ... how does Sanaya do this 😲... a changeover in a single day ... to a character who is as big a contrast to Paro as one could imagine.👏

Where Paro was gentle and kind, Myrah is rough ... where Paro was delicate, Myrah is tough ... While Paro dressed in long traditional ghaghras, Myrah wears tiny shorts ... while Paro never raised her hand on anyone, Myrah can chase down a thug for her bag, without any help ... while Paro never had any demands, any complaints, Myrah won't let anyone get away with anything belonging to her ... while Paro learned how to use a mobile phone and modern kitchen appliances only after marriage, Myrah uses laptop and phone simultaneously, and doesn't even think about it.

Oh, and while Paro never knew what a phone wallpaper was, Myrah adores taking selfies ... with everyone and anyone.

Myrah ... the daughter of an industrialist, the niece of a minister ... today's girl ... bright, confident, tech savvy ... in Udaipur to fix the venue for her wedding. While her parents have fixed the rishta to a boy she knows, she didn't get the choice then ... so she will choose the wedding venue herself. But her antics of chasing down a thug alarm her uncle, so she will be provided with a 24 hour bodyguard.

Rudra has left the BSD and started a security company. No prizes for guessing who Myrah's bodyguard will be. 😳

Precap was adorable ... Dhruv and Myrah.
I am so glad the cvs have kept Paro very much alive in her son. Dhruv is a replica of his mother ... soft-spoken, gentle, sensitive.

Hi Diya - Thanks for opening a post and writing it so beautifully.😊
Hi Shweths- Thanks for the collages. It keeps us going.😊

It was a light episode but Paro's loss will always be in the background. Also, we are on to the next generation now so we will see more of Dhruv and Koel. now. Here are my thoughts.😊

Funny moment- It is hilarious how Shatabdi picks up the belt every time to control of Sumer. Before marriage, KCM beat him up and after marriage it is Shatbdi who will keep the tradition going on. I like how Koel interrupts and tells them to stop. She is dressed exactly like KCM which freaks Shatabdi out😊 It was interesting how Koel mentioned Bigdaa hua Mausam and for rounding up 6 and a half to 7 years.

Emotional moment- Did anybody else cry at this moment? It was sad when Rudra mentioned to Dhruv that he and Paro put the rose flower before his birth so that both could grow together?😭 And then Dhruv mentions about being careful with thorns.

Respectful moment- It was so sad to see Rudra put the flower on Paro's picture and lifted Dhruv who also puts a flower and does Pranam. Dhruv is growing up to be an ideal person like Paro.👏 Thank you Maithili Bai Sa for imbibing those qualities in him.

Tearful moment- Rudra looks at Paro's picture and says that I don't know if I have become a good dad but I know this much that "Teri Kami Puri Nahi Kar Paunga".😭 Forgive me, Paro.

Rudra- you have been a good dad.⭐️ How sad was the fact when he told the other party on phone that he doesn't work for BSD anymore? The one thing which meant so much to him?

Maithili- Dhruv- Rudra- Loved how Dhruv touches everybody's feet, and takes blessings from everybody. Loved how Maithili says that "My beta will cut the cake". And it is time for Dhruv to make a wish and of course he has the same wish like us that he wants his mom back.😊

Adorable moment- Major remembers Paro asking "What did you wish for when you cut the cake?" Major says "Tujhe". These flashbacks are killing me.😭 Maithili cuts the cake with Dhruv and asks him to give it to Papa first and then of course one is for mom. Loved how Rudra kissed him. The father-son bond is keeping me going guys.

Cute moment- Loved how Koyal asked Dhruv "What did you wish for?" and Dhruv answered that he wants his mom back. Koel reminds him that she is with God and then Dhruv says that somebody else like her could come back. Is that a hint, guys?😛

Compare and contrast moment- Loved how Maithili describes Paro like she had a nice face, innocent eyes, she used to cry at little things, she used to consider other people's sorrows as hers, she couldn't hurt anybody, she was never mad or never complained.
I don't know what to think of Myra except that she is a fighter too. She did get her purse back from the thief and took a picture with the ladies and does things which she likes.😛 She loves taking selfies. I think that Myra is going to sober down a little (Just my guess)

Heart-breaking moment- My heart pained when Koel asked Dhruv if his wish is going to be granted. Dhruv said, I don't know, Shayad.😭 The longing in his eyes is so visible. Whenever, I see the longing in his eyes, I feel like getting Paro from somewhere and give it to him. Forgive me guys for thinking like this but that is exactly how I feel.

Sumer-Shatabdi-KCM- Most of you had predicted that Sumer is going to be the undoing of KCM and today it is just the beginning. He clicked Shatabdi's photo and put it on the jar and so they are going to be competing against Mohini. Not only that, Shatabdi rubbed salt on her wounds by showing her the picture.😊

Precious moment- Dhruv is busy dreaming and love how Rudra wakes him up. Maithili tells him to tickle his feet, and he covers himself up and scratches his head and Rudra reminds him to go to school. Dhruv says that he was in a garden with mom who was swinging him, he was swinging high and mom was laughing. You can feel Rudra's pain at this moment. The RR music in the background adds to this pain.😭

Bodyguard moment- It appears as if Rudra will be protecting Myra and we have to wait for this story to unfold so that we can comment. Sanny looks gorgeous though.😛

I don't know what to choose for acrostic today, so I chose "Wish" as the word for today keeping Dhruv, Rudra and us in mind.😊

W- Wanted (Dhruv wants his mom back asap)
I- Important (Can Dhruv's belief come true that his mom will come back one day?)😊
S- Sacred (Will Dhruv's precious prayers be answered one day?😊
H- Happiness (Will Dhruv and Rudra finally get the happiness they deserve?)😊

Wishing Dhruv a very Happy Birthday and I hope Bholenath fulfills his wishes.😊

Precap- Dhruv finally meets Myra and the connection is right there. He has accepted her at the first sight but we just have to wait and see how the story will unfold. Just wanted to say something else.

It is not easy switching gears but Sanny is portraying the modern girl effectively. 👏

It is not easy to move on but I read UR, JJ and Gayatri's post today and looks like there is a light at the end of the tunnel. 😊 Hoping for the best here for Dhruv's sake, for Rudra's sake and for our sake.

------UnReserved---------

After many days we got an episode which is not rushed at jet speed... Finally looks like CV's reached their destination.. The new story starts... I am still a little shaken up by the sudden loss of Paro.. Unfortunately, we can not fast forward the time to 7 years like in the show... It is just yesterday that I lost someone very special and dear to me.. It will take some time for me to get adjusted to this... So, please excuse me and my post as it might be jumbled and not so happy wala... I will try my best to be as normal/entertaining with my post as I can...😊

I liked the episode, importantly for its pace... It was nice to enjoy each scene as it played out rather than running through the scenes wondering what the hell is happening 😛.. Finally the new 'truck (Upgraded from tractor) wala dil' Sumeer is here... He is now as we predicted a 'Joru ka gulam' and also 'Maa Sa ka champcha'😆... Good to know that Shatabdi is still standing tall against Mohini... She is as funny as her husband.. The bit where she goes to grab the belt.. God! these two are in every sense made for each other 🤣... And the chota (Dhamaka) packet Koyal is no less. They make a perfect family.. She looked cute wearing Mohini's attire😎.. This scene made me wonder, why Mohini didn't pressure Sumeer for more kids.. Wasn't she obsessed with Pota?? Or did Shatabdi express hit her hard😛.

I was disheartened to hear that Rudra left BSD.. Even though I knew it in advance... I will miss seeing him walk around with attitude in his BSD uniform... That uniform made Rudra more dashing and more Rudra. And him not having it any more made be realize again that this is indeed a new RR... I mean, this Rudra is not like the one we know... He is really composed, considerate and calm.. He is different.. He is a father.

It was refreshing to see some celebration in the show.. Thinking back we never got a pleasant, Bina Villain/twist wala celebration in RR... Nice to see the bond Dhruv and Koyal share... The contrast between the kids was clearly visible.. Koyal is bubbly like kids her age but Dhruv.. He has that emptiness in his life which he doesn't know how to fill. The absence of his mother is felt by him in ever minute. Just like Rudra feels absence of his wife. They both crave, want, need and wish for only one person... Paro.

The conversation between the Father-Son in the garden was beautiful.. The lack of her presence in their lives is always there on their faces.. The scene near Paro's picture brought tears in my eyes... Oh Rudra! My heart cries for him... His pain even after all these years is still the same.. He is here but not really here, he smiles but it doesn't reach his eyes, his heart beats but he is not alive, he looks happy but is not really, he lives but with a huge hole, he is surrounded with people but is still lonely... And the way Dhruv looks at Paro's pic and prays to it... He too desperately wants her in his life... Just like we all do. The boy playing Dhruv did a nice job in showing Dhruv's sorrow through his face and eyes..

I am happy that Paro is not forgotten by CV's.. By the way they rushed through yesterday's episode... I didn't keep my hopes very high... But even though I felt happy that she is remembered... Rudra talking to Paro's picture... Him recollecting celebrating his birthday with her... It is too painful to watch him suffer like this. And the flashback where he tells Paro he wished for "her" before blowing the candles... My heart broke to pieces again💔... Which made me question myself, why am I hurting myself by watching the show that is causing me pain... The only answer I could give me is... for SanIsh and hope. Hope that Paro will be back... Hope that it will all be better soon... And hopefully it will be for all of us...😊

The only saving grace which helped me from falling into despair again were Sumeer, Shatabhi and Mohini trio... Nice to see one of our predictions come true.."Sumeer, mere liye cake lao"... "Biwi ke Naukar... Mere liye thanda lao" 🤣... Sumeer is truly being sandwiched between these two ladies.. Bechara😆... And the whole Photo on Achar Dabba... What happened to the old Mohini? Do I have to give credit to Shatabdi for this change??😉

It felt nice to feel Paro through Maithili's words... Her eyes held great joy and sadness when she talked about her.. And finally we got Myrah's entry... Liked her chirpy, loud and carefree attitude.. So, she is from a very rich family and is here to find venue for her soon to happen marriage... Nice. But CV's, just a word "Slow"... Don't use this wedding as an excuse to rush her to fall for Rudra.. Please, take baby steps and let us breath..

The last scene, It was cute how Rudra and Maithili wake Dhruv up... All looks well until he starts to talk about his beautiful dream very happily.. The immediate change in Rudra's expressions and his voice... The smile which played on his lips just a second back to be replaced by pain. The little boy whose happy face fell flat as he realized he had upset his father. My God! this is so unfair. I feel so bad for these two.. Both are suffering equally... But both are trying to hide their pain and smile for the other... ❤️

Every mention of Paro, her picture, Rudra's face, Dhruv's yearning eyes, anything and everything that reminded me of her in today's episode left a huge lump in my throat and tears welled up in my eyes... I don't know how much of this pain I can take.. I just want Paro back... Bas... Sorry... I didn't mean to spoil anyone's mood. I am still a mess. And still not completely out of the shock.. Yet.. Give me time. I will bounce back.😊

Precap is interesting and also heart touching... For a boy who yearns for his mother to have a lady looking exactly like her stand before him... Wow!

Dhruv's Birthday - Rudra's silence - Myrah's Entry.

Today's episode is more emotional one for me. It took from where we left yesterday. It showed the big gap in Rudra and Dhruv life. Though we have Maithili to take care of the kid as a mom the kid misses his mom. A mother who is a part of his father. Rudra has stopped himself there with Paro. He kinda silensed himself from his own self.

Sumer and Shatabdi daughter is a mix of her mom and dadi. She is full of cuteness in a playful way.I was so happy to see the bond she share with Dhruv. Its nice to see Maithili being more of a mom to both the kids and handling with all love and care they should get from the mom. She is more like a god mother to the kids. So nice

Dhruv and Rudra talks about Paro and they keep the Rose for her and Rudra talks to his Paro. I felt really sad at this point for Rudra on what he has been missing in his life, his Paro. Dhruv made a wish and cuts his cake, even at that time Rudra remembers his wish to have Paro always.
Koel and Dhruv talks abt Dhruv wish and knows more about Paro. Dhruv wants to have a mom may not the same but some one who is nice like his mom , he kinda understands that his father has taken a full stop in his mind and he just living a life.

Myrah entry. She is full of sprit. A girl from todays world.She comes here to finalize her wedding venue with a friend. She is not in this marriage for love she is accepting someone she knew as her husband. Hmmm interesting!!! As we all know she is here to fall in love aren't we?.

Then the dream of Dhruv and how Rudra silenses him and asking to wake up. He kinda skips the situation by not staying there more. His loss is so much that he is going on with life for the promise he said to Paro and trying to be a good dad and bringing up his son in good way unlike him. Kudos to Paro to make him a man.

Though i miss Paro badly i felt that Rudra and Paro has come to a steady state. So any tracks were played out may be its more like some other story in which they play a part and not the story of them ( may be i want to convince myself to go on with story). Though they would have played out so many other options i'm ready to see how it goes from here. I'm the one was asking time to adjust but thanks to the actors the transition was made neatly.

Rudra loves Paro. He knows she is gone and Myrah is someone else. The only reason that she looks like Paro wont make rudra fall in love with her. He may feel so sad and much more guilty on seeing a look alike of Paro but he has to protect her which is his job. It wont be easy for him to go ahead and protect myrah on her wedding planning. Its pure torture for him to go thru it though he knows its not paro its not easy for him to see her off. On the other hand myrah can fall in love with rudra and her biggest block to get her love is that she looks like paro. She has to get the depth to accept a man with deep first love and a kid. Hope this plays out neatly and we get to see AS and SI as Rudra and Myrah. I have so much belief in the actor that they will play out very good but dont know why i dont have the belief in the writers and the channel. Every other day comes with something or the other news which makes me sad. Looking forward with hope :-)

I too res... 😛 Will save Shweta the trouble of PM-ing me!!!

~~~UPDATED~~~
The episode that was... I liked the episode, contrary to what others here must have felt!!!!! No rotten eggs, tomates and slippers, please... 😉 And Myrah is cool... I loved her, and tried to relieve some sadness of Paro's death!!!!
The Birthday party:
It's Dhruv's birthday and a small celebration with family... The cake looked so yummy, i could have feasted on it, too... Huh, okay so they got a nice good cake, Koyal put the candles on it (how sweet) and Dhruv blows them, making a wish!!!! Rudra goes into flashback and he becomes wishful - Paro had asked him the same thing which his niece asked his son... I too was in Rudra-land for a while... God, can any kid get any more cuter???? He makes his dad eat his as well as his mother's share - aww... A sweet family picture...
And that garden talk between father and son - Quite well done, both talk about love of their lives... Rudra tried to keep Paro alive in every way he could to let his son know her, understand her, how she would have been if she was here today with them!!! And Dhruv is quite understanding for his age!!! A rose to remember Paro, everyday of their lives...
Enter Myrah:
I loved her entry!!!!! A girl on a visit to the city to see and decide a wedding venue of her choice - shades, bangs, tech-savvy and a coffee mug in hand - very much the foreign-bred/ returned girl!!!! Gets out of the car to get a feel of Indian air, culture and weather, despite warning fromthe driver not to get out of the car!!!! Throw in a clumsy pickocket, to come and take away the girl's "favourite" purse... And you have the new FL running full speed to catch the chor... Hihihi... Loved the round and round and round chase she gave to the thief!!!! Wait, the best was yet to come... Thief gets thrown in a pool pf dye-water, Myrah gets selfies with the thief in the background and some more with the surprised ladies!!!! 😉
Dhruv's Dream:
I love this kid... How nicely was Rudra trying to wake up his son for school, ably aided by Maithili's tricks to wake him up!!! And the kid is dreaming of his mother playing with him on a swing... Wakes up to tell the same to his father, who couldn't control his emotions and leaves the room... Dhruv realising that his father must be sad, immediately sets out to say sorry, but alas Rudra's already out of the room!!!!
The epic joker, through the years - Sumer:
Sumer is one constant who'll never change - come what may!!! Always the goofy character, ready to be sandwiched between the "love" of his mother and his wife... 😆
And he has made peace with his married life, has a daughter but still is that same silly persona... SuSha are fun to watch...😆
Mohini vs. Shatabdi:
They were, are and will always be each other's foes - each one tries to be one-up against the other!!!! So, Shatabdi too has started an aachaar businees with her father's money in response to her Saasu-ma's business - Sumer must be handling his wife's deals; no wonder he gets ordered by his wife... Not to forget that Mohini can't never ever let go of her only chamcha... Result: Sandwiched Sumer!!!
Koyal and Dhruv:
Wonderful kids... If one is rowdy, the other is calm... If one is demanding, the other is ever-adjusting... If one wants her share, the other can let go of his!!! But they do make a cute brother-sister duo!!! That birthday wish from Koyal was so sweet...
Maithili:
I just love her, bas!!! She is a mother to both Dhruv and even Koyal... Like Shatabdi said, only Maithili could handle her daughter!!!!
Okay, I watched the episode on TV today.
as I said, willing to give the makers a chance to tell their story.
Today, I did not see myrah, I saw Sanaya. I mean the off screen Sanaya - chirpy, bubbly, gives a damn attitude but always a smile on face. I think someone has a crush on her and has made the new heroine to suit her real life character 😆😆 (Just kidding about the crush, allergic to tomatoes 😛)
jokes apart, i will wait for a few more episodes and I dont blame Sanaya - she didnt even get the time to get into the skin of the character, yet she played it with aplomb! She did portray Myrah perfectly!
Coming to Rudra, he confused me. He is shown as a loving, caring father. Yet he does not know how to wake his son up? I understand they wanted to show Maithili's role in his life, but just done it tad bit differently or Rudra's expressions could have been different. His expression reminded me of the mangalsutra and Maithili teasing him 😆.
I let go the coat incident understanding that his is a quiet kid and from observation Maithali realized and Rudra did not have the luxury as he has a business to run. If someone could explain the scene differently to me, I am all ears.
him quitting BSD, I understand. Taking up security business- he has always been good with security. Here, he can choose cases as per his liking. His first priority has become his son and also his uniform gave him the assurance that nothing will happen to Paro. The day, that proved a lie, his uniform had to go 😭
I liked the child actors, Dhruv and Koyal. Their bonding is just as his mom wanted. She is the pataka, he may be Paro's son but dont forget he will have his dad's characteristics. I am waiting for him to blossom out, the loss of a mother has restrained him (parallel to Paro - she was bubbly at 6, but life taught her to quieten down)
Sumer-Shadabdi-KCM - Though they were funny, I request a little of depth in the comedy scenes. Dont make them a caricature esp Mohini.
Overall a balanced episode, if my take is tilts towards the non positive scale, its only because I am expecting a dhasu season 2 for taking Paro away so wretchedly!!
Dont want the mistakes of S1 to dog S2.
