Over the years, Yash Raj Films has mostly been synonymous with making family entertainers. It comes as a surprise then that their upcoming film, Mardaani', has been given an A' certificate by the Indian censor board, making it a film solely aimed at an adult audience.
"The film deals with child-trafficking and prostitution. This is why the film has been issued an A certificate," a source informed Mid Day.
Mardaani' has been directed by Pradeep Sarkar, who previously directed Parineeta' (2005) for Vidhu Vinod Chopra and Laaga Chunari Mein Daag' (2007) for YRF. Starring Rani Mukerji in the lead role, the film is set to release on August 22nd.
