The show has to show love and obsession from the hero and heroine's side, recently Raja has provided a food processor for Madhu because he noticed his wife's hands were scarring with work, he does the poscha (cleaning floor of the house) so the wife doesn't have to do it, he earns a wage and did a dangerous stunt to provide financially for their needs. Madhu doing some work to lessen the load on her husband is a good thing, if they do indeed show a heroine track to earn money to pay for Raja's hospital operation for his heart, it's a way of showing her love for him.
We need to remember both Madhu and Raja will go out of their way sometimes, bend over backwards (where that person is shown Mahan and the other weaker), to do things for the spouse as the CV's strive to show this ishq and junoon for each other.

So when we are all hating on one of the leads, don't show my favourite weak and her strong, or on the other side also though favourite is Madhu we say we don't like her most of the time because she is the weaker one and he is stronger than her and wins all their challenges, what we should remember perhaps is the title of the show these two are in love and that same love makes them weak against each other and the same love makes them stronger when the other is injured or weak.
