Euthanasia

Euthanasia is the deliberate killing of a person for the benefit of that person. In most cases euthanasia is carried out because the person who dies asks for it, but there are cases called euthanasia where a person isn't in a position to make such a request as well( I guess mostly brain-dead patients)

Does an individual who has no hope of recovery, or has been suffering n enduring pain or agony for a long long time have the right to decide how and when to end his/her own life?

What about the belief that it is interfering with the belief that life is given by God, and only God should decide when to end it? N If Euthanasia was made legal, what are the chances that the laws regulating it would be abused, and people who didn't really want to die would be killed?

Should Euthanasia be made legal? Should we have a right to end our life as much as we have to live it?

Good topic indeed Sonia. We just had similar topic few weeks back.

My answer is terminal disease or living like vegetable pls call Dr. Kavorkian and put me out of my misery. My family and attorney knows that & I have it in writing 😛. Do not make me or loved ones around me suffer 😳.

Thanks for your post 👏

You are at the age when u can do masti. There is time for everything in life. You are student right??? Enjoy yourself and leave this type of things to elders who must decide what they want done in situation in your topic.

life of human has increased due to technology and awareness. So if there is a suffering, where it canot be cured then no point in living like vegetable. Better for the loved ones too as suffering is not effecting only th epatient but the whole dear ones.

I find it difficult to support Euthanasia... I live in hope and prayer that one day, a miracle can happen... it is almost as if there is something which keeps the person alive, even if medical science may call the person a vegetable... or in a comatose state.... Why else would a person who is in all other respects almost dead, still be alive, still the heart beats, still there is an occassional flicker of eyelash...Surely, there is a life in there, and who knows what could happen in future. Call me selfish, but I would rather my grandmom be with me for as long as God and her own self wills, rather than we having to take a decision, for her 😭

I know hun, its a very practical and rational thing to do. Infact I could even say, its the right thing to do at times maybe. But I guess, even if it is made legal, it would still be extremely difficult to exercise that right, when one of your loved one is lying there and you are to decide whether you wanna pull off that life cord. Cus as much as you wanna believe that there is no hope, there is still something in you that hopes n that keeps you from making that decision I guess.

Aah..You just echoed my thoughts hun. I just missed your post while I was writing to swar. I was about to say the same thing priya, infact almost said the same thing I think. Something in you keeps you hoping ...for the best....or for a miracle....something 😔

And I think this is what they argue about as well, that if God wishes to keep that person alive, we are no one to defy that. But again, we come to this point that how many of them actually believe in God, cus atheists wont buy this argument at all.

I agree with s.priya and sohn. To find strong souls like DB, one might need to go searching with a torch.

If I was in a situation like that, I do think I will tell my well-wishers to let me go but if it is someone near and dear in this situation, I don't think I will be able to let her/him go. It is a creepy thought. And as Priya said, call me selfish but I would rather have 'em stay with me.

My mom's grandmother had various ailments for ten years before she passed away. She lived till she was 91. Her existance saddened us all. During her last days, we were faced with the.decision of whether to let her go or not. No one was ready for it. She sufffered and suffered and finally passed away. Of course, everyone felt guilty for putting her thorugh the suffering but there are times, when one is just so helpless.

I really wish no one has to see things like this. This thought scares me. 😳

nobody right to die.. cos euthanasia tals about incurable pain... what about those with intolerable mental anguish, people who lose everything, and people who just wanna die just for the heck of it...... So euthanasia cant be legalized.... 😊
