Cool Gautami! - An article

Gautami Kapoor, who has replaced Smriti Iraani as Tulsi in Kyunki Saas Bhi Kabhi Bahu Thi, is now comfortable with her new avatar and loves to play the role. Initially, she was very nervous about playing the character of Tulsi Virani which had been a rage with the public for over seven years now but as she knew most of her co-stars, made things easy for her. The fact of her husband Ram Kapoor being a senior and successful actor with Balaji (Mr Walia of Kasamh Se) also helped her in doing the needful with a certain comfort level.

As the actress reveals, ' I was quite nervous on the first day. Who wouldn't be scared to take on a role that comes with so much baggage and expectations? But now I am having a good time playing Tulsi. Lots of these actors know Ram (Kapoor, her husband), so I did not feel like an outsider on the sets at all. My look does not require me to wear any jewellery or pad my face with loads of make-up. I take barely five minutes to get ready and that, I think, is a real blessing!'

However, Gautami is very concerned about the well being of her one- year -old daughter Sia and do want to compromise on that. But she has all praise for Balaji for being flexible and giving her option of different working hours. During the day, her mother and mother-in-law take care of her daughter and thus she is able to concentrate on her work.
