WOW!! What an Episode that was yesterday..I was completely Awe struck by the Episode in its entire Entirety! It took me until now to actually come over n write my take on the Episode..so much was the impact it had on me...I took time to let it all sink in...Very Deep n Very Fulfilling! I got reminded of the last such scene we got from this team..the Draupadi Vastra Haran (not the Dice Game)...that shook me from inside and gave me Goose Bumps!! And yesterday's Dusshasan Vadh Episode did just that n More!! I had a lot of expectations from the Episode and frankly, it surpassed all my Expectations!!
I was irked by Kunti though..rather, I hated her in yesterday's Episode!! She is virtually blind & so Oblivious to the Woes, Pain and Insult her Daughter-In-Law has suffered in the open court..its disgusting how she oversaw all that Humiliation that Panchali faced and chose to get into the "Gandhari Jaap" mode yet again!!
But I really really Loved Draupadi for the way she gave it to Kunti..not a single reaction on her face..cold and emotionless, stern, firm n determined, yet polite Draupadi said: "Aaj main na mata hun, na patni, na behen, naahi putri, sirf ek nyay ki agni hoon or muhje nirdayi banna hi hoga".."Ab Nirdayta hi mera Dharm hai"...Awesome!! Panchali even gave Kunti a subtle reminder of what she had said about only being Death, in the Sabha..Yet Draupadi had a disgust..some kind of repulsion, which was quite natural considering the level of Justice she was going to get. Nyay Ki Agni she was, and the Fire in her so Evident, as the Upapandavs beckoned her to come over the chariot to be taken to the battlefield! Dressed in red, looking at Kalbhairav, Draupadi looked so Elegant, ready for her Pratishod! Pooja was Bang On with her expressions here...every movement of the eye was Superb!! The tone, the dialogue delivery...touched u! I also Loved the camera work when it zoomed and moved towards Kalbhairav, while Draupadi was walking away...representing that it was now time for justice and a woman's insult and humiliation eventually turned her into a swaroop of Ma Kali, who Lord Shiva himself couldn't stop or control till her goal was met and she eventually calmed down..satisfied..
Bhima was wrecking havoc and there was absolutely no force that could stop him..The way he called out to Panchali in the battlefield, as she arrived on the chariot to witness it all n fulfill her Pratishod..Awesome!! Draupadi was Fire, She was a Force, She was Power, She was Shakti...she represented every women who met such worse and Gory levels of Humiliation and Insult and waited for Justice to be done!! The connection between Panchaali and Bhima was Amazing and the final moments of Dusshasan repenting were haunting..shook you actually. This was probably the best episode during the Kurukshetra track after the Gita Gyan..
The pulling of Dusshasan's hair, dragging him along towards Panchali, ripping apart the hands that dared to touch Panchali, beating him up to pulp and then opening up Dusshasan's chest to wash Panchali's hair with it and satisfy her every grief, anger, pain, humiliation and Vow..Bhima was on Fire!
And all the while, Panchali was equally Fierce..she witnessed Dusshasan meet his worst fate and Gory death ever, paying for all his sins..Loved the expressions and emotions that Draupadi was depicted going through...those Eyes said it all..a sense of satisfaction to see her wrong doer getting punished aptly..Strength and determination...rage and pain at the same time and a reminder of the grave humiliation she once went through in the hands of Dusshasan..anger and regret!! I can imagine what Draupadi must have gone through on the day of her VH and then on this day as she saw her wrong doer being punished before her eyes..
I Loved every bit of the scenes where Draupadi stands before Dusshasan, n he sees her while a tear drop from her eyes falls on his forehead, like she was finally putting an end to his plea for death, like she was wishing him a peaceful sleep after paying for all his sins..I Loved it when Bhima calls on Panchali to fulfill her Pratishod..where Draupadi seats herself beside Bhima and he smears blood on her head, the blood trickling down her forehead near her eyes..Loved the way Bhima was rubbing all that blood into her hair and running his blood filled hands through her locks..Bhima was only rage while Draupadi expressed satisfaction, and pain at what the entire justice left behind..some Harsh Truth..Dusshasan saw all of that and he felt a strong sense of repent and humiliation..he seemed like he was seeking Draupadi's forgiveness that only she could read from his face..that scene came off so well..and I Loved the way the camera focused on Panchali's eye...blood in it, and trickling down her cheeks along with tear drops..a gush of emotions running through her, yet as strong as Ma Durga herself!
Further, Draupadi does not shed tears until she comes near the vegetated body of Dusshasan..She doesn't look away when Dusshasan is being thrown around nor does she flinch when his arm is being ripped from his body or has his chest torn apart in the hands of Bhima..As she walks towards the body there is no hesitation or emotion in her face..once she comes near the battered body of Dusshasan and remembers the words from her Pratishod, she sheds some tears..those tears represented a sense of satisfaction, a sense of pain remembering what she went through, tears representing anger and regret, those tears were for the brutality of the result that was a consequence of the horrendous act that Dusshasan performed...it was definetly not a sign of any weakness..but she was human afterall, a woman at that and as her Pratishod got fulfilled and justice was done, she tears up with Bhima pouring blood on her head..she was thinking of the the price everyone had to pay for justice and restoration Dharma..
Bhima was Barbaric..he wasn't himself..he was possessed and in a state of Trans..some strange powers had taken over him as he fulfilled Draupadi's Pratishod and moved to drink Dusshasan's blood..Draupadi knew Bhima was in a different state of mind completely and she didn't want him to take it further by drinking his brother's blood...justice had been done...her Pratishod fulfilled and Dusshasan had met the end he deserved..that was enough..I wanted to see Draupadi rise above it all on the fulfillment of her Vow and satisfaction of the humiliation..and I was glad when she made a brief remark about Dusshasan being Bhima's brother and asked him not to go ahead with drinking Dusshasan's blood with just Eye-talk. That shook me again...Bhima truly had turned demonic to bring on justice to Panchali, and it was only Panchali who could stop and calm him down..none other could dare to do it..and Bhima obliged to Panchali..it was like Panchali brought him back to earth, shook his human soul back into him and snapped him out of the trans and possession. I Loved the way she shook her head to stop Bhima from drinking up the blood..Draupadi was the right concoction of Compassion, Anger, Revenge, Forgiveness and Strength. It was moving to see Bhima actually breakdown after that, at the end of it all, his Pishach dialogue was poignant for me..like he had ended up representing everything which he hated in Dusshasan..and he held on to his brother and cried..to everyone else's pain and relief as well..
Even Dusshasan was in Awe of Draupadi as she stopped Bhima from drinking his blood...he wondered how she can still be so Forgiving towards him, for all that he had done to her..he was repenting every bit..and it was only after that Forgiveness he recived from her through yet another Wonderful Eye-Talk between him and Draupadi, did he breathe his last and leave his body..
The eye-talk between Draupadi and Duryodhan as Bhima washed her hair with Dusshasan's blood was Amazing..it said so much with no need for words!! Brilliant..
Loved the last bit where Draupadi gets back into the Strong, Fearless Ma Durga Avatar..the Woman on Fire as she screamed at Duryodhan for being responsible for the Gory end of Dusshasan and all the other Kauravas as well..You felt a turmoil inside when she went: "Dhikkaar hain tumpe Dritharashtr putron..Hastinapur ke Yuvraj...Dekho aapke adharmon ke phal ko.." Draupadi was Fire in that scene...n I Loved Duryodhan's expressions in that scene..
My writing won't be justified if I didn't write a note of Appreciation about the actors..the Rockstars of the Day were obviously Pooja and Saurav!!
Pooja looked Drop Dead Gorgeous in every bit, every scene of the Episode!! Her Eyes are so Divine!! I Love and am amazed at how much she can do with those eyes!! She doesn't need words for Her Eyes can speak Volumes!! Just how Beautiful she looked..her hair loose and flowing, a Bright Glow in her body..the Apt Dialogue delivery, the expressions and Body language..the costume, with the red vail dragging along with blood stains..Aww...Pooja is a Marvel!! I can't stop appreciating about this Actor Par Excellence!! She rocked it completely!! Love her to Bits!! She looked different..like some Supreme Power brought out a different and Divine strength and beauty in her!! And I was Amazed at just how Super Stunning she can look in every frame and every expression..even with blood smeared all over her hair and face!! I seriously think Pooja should get her Eyes Insured!! She is a Fantabulous and Ace actor and I seriously think that we couldn't have got a Better person to play Draupadi!
