That scene was actually beautiful - the way she explains - superb dialogs and acting by DS

The explanation still makes it like women have to wear bindi for someone else - if not for husband then for son's happiness. It would have been better if it was for Gahana's own happiness.

This is what BV has been all about.

Not talking about big things but trying to bring about change in thinking in small ways.⭐️

They just use this small things like a bindi to launch a discussion on a big issue about widows and how they should lead their life.

Gehna did not want to wear it because Basant was not there and tradition dictated that she take it off.

For Nandu that bindi mattered because she looked pretty and he associated a happy smiling Gehna with it.

That is the reason why DS convinced her to put it back on because it made Nandu happy.And she did say that if it is because of tradition that she stopped wearing it sheexplained why that tradition is meaning less.How just because she dresses well in the absence of her husband doesn;'t make her love for her dead husband any less.

It was left to Gehna whether she wanted to wear it or not.

Good questions. A widow wearing red and others (Ganga and Anandi) wearing sober pastel colours looked odd.

@bold - it was like bichhade sabhi bari bari... No Bhairo, Sumitra, no sugna and even Gahna's family also missing.. Only Anandi remains with BH in this testing time. Lal Singh at least was present during funeral, but even his wife was not seen or that permanent sarpanch of Jaitsar, DS's younger sister (she came when Gahna was a new bride) etc. In fact, no relatives except for Shiv, Anandi, Shiv's parents and daddu.
