The Dark Side: A Journey of Revenge

(Vengeance is mine..part 2)

"Vengeance is mine, I will repay…Leo Tolstoy"

(This is not an interpretation of the dialogue)

In this journey of revenge that both these characters have travelled with
both sharing the same goal—the barbaadi of JW. Both have different
reasons for their own vengeance. However, today what Aparajit Deb says
to himself and to God surmises this complex, mysterious character's
journey of "barbadi".

Accha insaan...suna tunhe (looking towards the sky)…main ek accha
insaan hoon. Yeh teri acchayee bahot mhengi padti hai mujhe….accha
insaan…yeh rishton ka khel bhi ajeeb hai…kisiko rishtey ki gherayee
maar jati hai aur kisiko rishtey ki mhengai

This path of vengeance, this war of destruction, that he has chosen is
with himself, with God. It is his revenge. All his. He has played the
biggest game of his life and today he holds the winning card in his hands.
He holds victory in his hands. He has won. Hate and Love are opposites
of each other, it only takes a second for the emotion to change from one
to the other. The hatred is even more deeper if the love was deep. In so
much hatred, AD discovered love. His own weapon pierced his heart.

Ab dekhna…woh bhi Walia se nafrat karti hai, mein bhi Walia se
nafrat karta hoon. Nafrat ke is raah per chalte chalte pata hi nahin chala,
ki kab pyaar ho gaya. Usne apni aadhi jindagi Walia ke saath gujari…aur
baki aadhi zindagi uski barbaadi mein gujaregi…

There is a saying that the victor weeps…indeed in a war there are no
winners. Aparajit Deb's conflct is about his own ideals, his own desires,
his ownself versus the ideals of a higher power, the desires of a higher
power, and fate. Today, he stands defeated in front of God. In the name
of love. God played His leela with Aparajit Deb. Love was brought into
his life to make him human again. Aparajit Deb indeed has loved and
lost. In the end this is all about looking at ourselves..in an honest
manner..in a humble manner..admitting to ourselves our faults, failures
and
recognizing that there is a higher power and our lives are not in our own
hands. To me, from the beginning Aparajit Deb's conflict has been with
God, its about him and the higher power.

mein to sirf zariyaan hoon Walia ki barbaadi ka….aur maan..sirf
booniyaad hamari shaadi ka. (smirk) Yeh zindgai bhi…jab mujhe pyaar ka
ehsaas hua to uska ehsaas kahin kho gaya. Jahan se Aparajit Deb ki
zindagi phir se shuroon hone wali thi…wahin per…Durga ki zindagi ka
unt ho gaya…..badi ajeeb hoti hai yeh zindagi.

In this journey of revenge, he got what he wanted a weapon to destroy his
enemy but the weapon pierced his heart, when it happened, how it
happened he was not aware of it. It just happened. And when that shot
happened, he accepted defeat. It takes an honorable insaan to let go of
victory. Today, the Victor Weeps.

Wow! 👏 👏 👏

First of all Aperture, I have to say that you have brillaint writing skills and insight. 👏 When it comes to philosophy, you are miles ahead of me.

The whole Dialogue by AD today was something of a deep and sincere one... and I think that you have done an excellent job of analysing the meanings and thought behind it 👍🏼

Until now, everytime that AD has looked to the skies and spoken, he was taunting God. Even I'm in total agreement that it did seem that he has some sort of conflict with God - It's like AD really does refuse to believe that God had any control over his destiny and his future.

But today, the adbhut one was no longer taunting the higher power... in fact, this time AD was talking with a sense of realisation that there are things which even he could not plan for even control. As you stated AP, did seem to finally give in (to himself, not any other person) that he is human and that he has been hit with the love stuff. The emotions conveyed today were of a guy that had what he wanted, but at the same time did not have it. In his own mysterious way, AD is going through the phase of looking into himself and his ways.

Slowly but surely, I feel that the guy is starting to let go of the ego a little by little.

This seems to go with what his mother in law constantly says - that her Jeet is a not at all a bad person. Instead, he is just a guy that has changed his good ways a little and developed a persona that will allow him to chase his goal of destroyin Walia. In the end, AD will both gain and lose because at times like this, the biggest winner and the biggest loser are the same person (Suniel Shetty's reality TV show "Biggest Loser Jeetega" is another example! 😆 ) .

Because there is so much depth to the character, coupled with the fact that Ronit Roy brings a second to none personality to AD, there is still limitless potential to what can be done with the character. The scene today was fantastic... and I'm sure that more great scenes will continue to happen. The creatives have done a great job with this awesome character.

Once again Aperture, excellent writing, and brilliant analysis! Your post was a joy to read 👍🏼

God bless.

Bavie, interesting observations on that particular dialogue. An interesting persona. A man moulded by time and circumstances. A tragedy for which he blames God and thus starts the challenge. He comes out of the tragedy against all odds and shows God he survives on his own dictates his own destiny but yet today when God sent love into his life it has cost him dearly. The realisation that he does not control his destiny after all.
Yes, the weapon he created has indeed pierced his heart. He has given Durga away to JW as Bani, sanctioned her marriage. In a way, sealed his own fate. He gave her the rangbhumi to fight, created the situation however underhanded it may seem but neccessary to fight a betrayal.
This makes me more the curious to discover the event that lead to the making of such a man. I guess it will be revealed after July 7th.

BTW, notice at how the current track is focussed on revenge on Pia by Bani and Pushkar on JW. AD out of the pic as yet.

Bavie,

Good post, although I disagree with most of its contents.

Lord K has won two battles (or rather will win too battles soon).

Battle #1: With his own power and formidable allies like DDG and Pooch he is bound to triumph over a wimp who can't even manage his saali. 😉

Battle#2: The battle of luv. I am sure Bani will soon get hold of JW's business and her kids and desert the sinking Titanic to get into the more seaworthy Carpathia. 😉 And we can soon see the beautiful sight of Lord K blowing air on the sleeping Bani/DDG very soon every day. 😉

I fail to see what he has lost except his heart. And I am sure having a seven star saint as ur wife can do u no harm.

(It takes an honorable insaan to let go of victory.)

Now this is the only part of the post that I agree with it. A man who:

  • Brainwashes a woman into hating relatives who are innocent (to some extent at least).
  • Kidnaps children.
  • Burns the homes of poor slumdwellers
  • Incites slumdwellers into burning a home where innocent kids are staying.
  • Blows air on the face of a sleeping woman in her bedroom.
  • Covets a married woman of two children
  • Marries her without telling her the whole truth.

Blackmails a hubby into stopping him from telling her the truth by threatening to turn her over to the police.

can only be described as an honourable person.

Ravi,

(In the end, AD will both gain and lose)

Again as I asked Bavie what can he possibly lose. Surely having a beautiful and virtuous bride like Bani can't be described as a defeat. 😕

Oval,

(He has given Durga away to JW as Bani, sanctioned her marriage. In a way, sealed his own fate. )

He has also been very careful enuff to blackmail JW so that he won't speak the truth to Bani. He has protected his own fate.

(revenge on Pia by Bani and Pushkar on JW)

I can understand Bani's need to take revenge on Pia but Pooch's reason to take revenge against JW? 😕 😕 😕 Is he the latest victim of Blame JW for everything he has not done syndrome? 😕 😕 😕

Rgds,

Pri

To fight Pia she has to be Durga. JW telling her the truth will revert her to Bani. In his dialogue yesterday, he has stated that by the marriage to JW she is Bani no more Durga. He has realized that she will not come back to him. The truth will be revealed to her without a doubt.

Tho I'm not an AD fan and generally dislike the character, yesterday his lines were lovely. Keeping aside all his motivations and reasons for his actions, what struck me was the poignancy and irony of his realization. His own emotionless weapon has now become his unrequited love and unwittingly his weakness. Durga has brought him back to the land of the living only for him to realise that she will never be his. The only man who can rouse her to emotion whether love or hatred is Jai Walia and this realization will be his nemesis.

***But he has made all the arrangements so that she doesnt get to know the truth, so who will tell her the truth? Walia family cannot reveal it because they wont to send her to Jail. Pia and her assistants will not do it, because Pia will loose JW in that case and AD himself will not tell anything because she is his weapon in this revenge and AD wants JW dead, so how Bani will not come back to him or has he decided that he wants her back as Bani and not as Durga, as he started falling in love after seeing shades of Bani in her, if he wanted to fall in love with Durga, he could hv in these 5 years rite?
