Domestic violence - no joke.

I read the Telly Buzz article in which it stated that Mohit Malik and a co-star (sorry, forgot his name!) were "recreating" the scene where Samrat was beating Urmi with the belt.

Ok, I don't know what others think about actors making a joke out of domestic violence but I personally found it to be distasteful. Not to mention it is sending out the wrong message to the audience. Domestic violence and abuse is no laughing matter, and I think it is a real shame to see intelligent actors mocking it and turning it into something trivial.

I have nothing against the actors, so I hope their fans do not take this the wrong way. But I do think that celebrities should be a bit more careful about what they do and say, especially in public. Perhaps the actors themselves did not realise what they were doing. Perhaps their intention was not to mock. But it's still wrong. The incident that Telly Buzz refers to was onstage in Durban and apparently, it got a few laughs out of the audience. I really wonder what's so amusing about it...

This show has made a mockery of the issue of domestic violence and has sent such a wrong message to its audience that it's just a shame!

This show is insane, and this forum seems to be going the same way. One whiff of romance, and people are ready to salivate over a wife-beater.

There have been countless variations of this topic on this forum.
Domestic Violence is no laughing matter. That is a very serious matter and unfortunately CVs have handled this matter very irresponsibly and well known TV actors making a joke out of it at a public event is just icing on the cake to make matters worse.

I'm already disappointed in CVs for not handling the matter with more sensitivity and showing a change of heart in Samrat so soon and Urmi forgiving him and so ready and eager to jump into bed with him - heights of stupidity and irresponsibility - this is sending a terrible message that is being sent out to the masses but no one in a position to change this - seems to care.

Is it just me or does it seem like DAK is going to get pulled and not DDBEDS to make way for Jamai Raja? Just considering the speed at which Samrat changed and Amrit being unmasked pretty soon. What is left after that? The original concept of DAK was never fully explained and then we were shown the domestic violence aspect - there was so much scope with that track but everything has been glossed over/swept under the rug and pretty much tied up. What's left?

Like someone on this forum said, If they wanted to show romance between Samrat and Urmi, they should never have brought up "Domestic Violence" !!
How is it possible that Samrat changed at such a fast rate??
And for goodness sake they should think about it..does Urmi not remember the pain he had caused her with his belt?!!!
I mean if I was in her place, I would definitely not be willing to forgive a man who had given me SO much pain. How can she just forget the torture she received?!
And as for the whole family..no comment. They were never of any use to Urmi and kept on insisting she take the complaint back.

So disgusting! There are some things you don't joke about and domestic violence is one of them. The actors should have known better. Disappointing!
