NEW DELHI, June 11: Newly appointed cricket coach of India, Graham Ford has declined BCCI's offer to coach Team India. This was stated by Ford on Kent club website on Monday.

The South African, who is Kent's Director of Cricket, said that he'll continue with Kent. Ford said that it has been a very difficult decision for him to say no to India's coveted offer.

As quoted in the website, Ford says BCCI's coaching offer is an honour for him as India have shown interest in his capabilities. Ford considers the decision right for himself and his family.

The 46-year-old was appointed as the new coach of Team India on June 9 in Chennai. Ford was given a one year contract to coach India.

well thts because indian board(BCCI) didn't tell him that he will be appointed for only 1 year.. they told him after the interview session... So he has his reasons for declining the offer... in his interview he said that he atleast need two to three years to work on this team.

well yes but not really, BCCI board wants someone who cud bring out the best inside the players but in one year.. this is not a difficult task.. But BCCI should know that no coach or ex-player wud agree on a 1 year contract for coaching any team..be it WI , pakistan or any other team in the world

Well once again shows the farcical behaviour of the BCCI as u say Fiza, no coach will want a 1yr contract. That is simply not long enough to b able to implement his ideas.

Really silly of the BCCI, now India come to England without a coach
