Emotional catharsis for Nikumb today

A touching scene today as Nikumb finally lays some ghosts in his mind to rest...He's been haunted all these years by the fact that his father didn't let him pursue his dreams regarding theater, that his father was never proud of him, that his father never encouraged him...and somewhere despite all his confidence otherwise, it made him doubt himself as an actor...acting was the final roadblock for him.

And today, by some miracle he was able to hear his father from beyond the grave...by a sheer stroke of luck, a video had been recorded showing his father's true thoughts on Nikumb's theater related ambitions...watching this scene made me miss VCRs and tapes so much😆

Oh but I digress...coming back to the scene...the most touching bit has to be Nikumb's reaction to hearing his father say that he was a fantastic writer and actor and so talented...and how much it pained his father to have to keep Nikumb away from these things for the sake of securing his future...that Nikumb was born in the wrong world...in a world where there is no appreciation for true talent...such a sad truth this is in actuality...

Abhishek was fab in this scene as Nikumb breaks down for a bit and is emotionally overwhelmed at hearing these long yearned for words of praise from his father...and then the way he thanks Azam and Yamini for doing this for him by pulling them both in for a hug...aww😆

Both moments of fear being conquered led to hugs...in Nikumb's case it ended up being a trio hug...lol...I loved the unit they made...the three of them in that visual.

Also liked that Yamini called out Nikumb on his hypocrisy...encouraging her so much to overcome her fears but giving up when it comes to conquering his own fears and demons?

So Nikumb has finally agreed to act as Dushyant...and Raghu is being his usual childish self going around tearing posters *rolls eyes*

Agree, it was pivotal scene done without much of over dramatization.. that made it stand out. This closure that will enable Nikumbh to soar .. how he reacts to the Raghu's encroachment into his domain (as per precap) should be interesting.

Yes I'm looking forward to watching that too...not that Nikumb was ever scared of Raghu to begin with...but this is a new low in Raghu's childishness and I'm waiting to see how Nikumb responds to that.

By the way that was a terrible poster to begin with...Vinita looks so awkward in it and it's been badly photoshopped.

I finally caught up with all the missed episodes. The lack of comments here is SO disheartening! 😔

Anyway, it really was a GREAT episode. Abhishek was just about OUTSTANDING in that scene where he breaks down in front of everybody. This was the closure he needed and it is sad that he never got to hear these words when his father was alive. All through his life, he grew up knowing that his father was never proud of him, when in fact he did make his father VERY proud! I can understand why it was such an issue. When you are a child, you are greatly affected by what your parents think of you. And when you grow up with something, it becomes a part of you and so difficult to just brush away. It is interesting to note that he never stopped doing theater. Hell, his passion GREW through it all! But he stopped going up on the stage because somewhere, there was always an open wound. He proved his father wrong and he knew it, but he never learnt to find happiness in that success. He found happiness only in his work. Because, like Yamini told him during the riots, the issue was not that he made a success out of his life. That he always knew. But he never got to hear it from his father, so it could not make him happy.

Clearly, Yamini is the stronger one of the two. Emotionally. From the inside. I love Yamini's role in helping Nikumbh conquer his own insecurities. Like you said, I am so glad she outright called him a hypocrite. On many occasions, he has been. And it made him see that he refuses to acknowledge his own insecurities and fears and I hope that in the near future, when they open that closed chapter of his past life, he will be able to face it for himself.

The hug was super, super cute! And like most things between them, SO spontaneous! *Goes to re-watch the scene*

Thank you for pitching in your comments...I thought you too had quit the show and the forum like many people seem to have in recent days...it seems pointless but I still make a thread on and off to talk about any scene that connects with me...not that anyone bothers with keeping discussion going in this forum...especially the kind of discussion this show DESERVES...ah well.

Yamini is definitely the more emotionally strong of the two despite being unable to fully emerge from Raghu's shadow yet...but she's quite the spitfire when she gets going...even Nikumb was surprised...lol...given the way he complained to Azam that he didn't know Yamini had it in her to lecture him so sternly😆

Yes, Nikumb has been a hypocrite on some occasions...I even felt it when he hid the Raghu issue from her...going by his own principle of when he forced her to admit the truth about the mobile phone, he himself shouldn't have lied...even if his reason is also that he doesn't want to hurt her.

Did you happen to catch today's epi yet?

The battle-lines are drawn and Yamini is the pawn being moved back and forth in the tussle b/w the two men...today Nikumb made his point to Raghu regarding what Yamini will choose without even having to ask Yamini directly...and Raghu was left fuming as Yamini walked away from him and towards Nikumb.

*Edit: WORD about the SPONTANEITY regarding the hug...that is what I found really endearing about the scene too...also notice, how Nikumb took her hand later on to thank her again? From that first handshake to now this...I love how organically their equation grows.

I am not going to quit anytime soon. At least, not as long as Neelesh Misra is part of this show. 😆
He was and will always be the prime reason why I watch this show.
Please do not stop making posts. Many like me still read. I guess it's just vacation time for most people.
Yamini surprises me too, sometimes. But goodness, she can attack!
I did catch the episode today and I want to talk about it. Just maybe a little later? It's three here, actually and I am super-sleepy! Talk to you later.

I've become such a fan of his radio stories...so yes, as long as Neelesh Misra is a part of this show and livens it up with his poetry and narrations, I will continue to watch...I was reading some of his interviews a few days back and I feel some of Nikumb's idealism stems from NM's own personality...the trait of wanting to follow your dreams come what may, no matter how many naysayers discourage you.

Alright, whenever you want to talk about today's epi, drop in and we'll talk :-) G'nite.

Could you share links to some of the interviews?
