AbhiGya Fan Fiction (7) : Convincing Pragya
Pragya hurried into the town square, checking her watch she realized it was already 4:00 in the afternoon, she had barely made it in time.
It had been two hours since her confrontation with Abhi. Her mind had been clouded with confusion since then. As surprised as she was that Abhi had come all the way to Hrishikesh for her, it didn't make up for all that he had done.
"Abhi samajhte kya hain apne aap ko? I'm not a toy that he can use whenever he wants for his convenience. No matter what happens, I am not going back with him!" Pragya said to herself as she entered the bookshop.
"Ah! Pragya bitiya! Aa gayi tum?" Mrs. Sethi looked up from desk and spoke as she saw Pragya come in. "Come, come I have a very special responsibility for you today!"
"Kya hain Mrs. Sethi?" Pragya asked, trying to get her mind off recent events.
"I have hired a new chokra for work. Kuch aata nahi hai ussko, but he seemed like such a nice fellow, I wanted to help him. Please tum ussko saara kaam sikha dogi?" Mrs. Sethi asked her.
"Of course, kaun hai?" Pragya asked.
"Him." Mrs. Sethi said pointing to someone standing near the last bookshelf with his back to the two of them.
"Don't worry Mrs. Sethi. Main sab sambhal loongi." Pragya smiled as she walked over to the stranger. She tapped on his shoulder, and waited as he turned around. When she saw his face, Pragya let out a cry of surprise.
"Aap? Abhi, aap yahan kya kar rahe hain?" Pragya asked him in a furious tone.
"Tumhe bilkul andaaza nahi hai na? How tempting you look when you are angry." Abhi grinned at her.
Pragya looked at Abhi sternly, then turned, ready to tell Mrs. Sethi that she couldn't work with him. But to her surprise, Mrs. Sethi was no where to be seen. Pragya turned around, looked up at Abhi, and sighed.
"Chaliye. Aap ko kaam sikhati hoon."
~ In Her Room ~
Pragya tried to make her bed, which wasn't easy because she was taking out all of her anger on the poor pillows and the blanket.
"Stupid rockstar kahin ka! He got a job at the bookshop, poora din besharamsi flirt kar rahe the. So many customers saw!" She muttered angrily to herself.
"And what was with that whole rain drama?" While leaving the bookshop, it had started raining heavily. As Pragya tried to find a roof to hide under, Abhi had swayed and danced in the rain beckoning Pragya to join him. Eventually Pragya had managed to drag him to the hostel, thankfully Mr. Mishra had gone home, so Abhi didn't have to dress in that saree again. Pragya had been so angry, she couldn't believe Abhi had booked the room right next to hers.
Pragya's thoughts were interrupted by a loud sneeze. "Ahhcchooo! Ahhchooo!" The sounds were coming from Abhi's room. Pragya tried to ignore them, but eventually gave in, got a glass of warm water and knocked on Abhi's door.
"Come ... Ahhchooo - come in!" Abhi said between sneezes.
Pragya walked in, and saw Abhi laying on the bed ... without a shirt. She quickly covered her eyes with her hand.
"Oh hey chashmish! Aise kya sharmaa rahi ho? Pehli baar bina shirt ke dekh rahi ho kya?" He teased her.
"Here. I brought you some garam paani, drink it, it'll stop your sneezes. And please wear something normal, otherwise you'll get even more sick!" Pragya said, pretending not to care. Abhi stared at her, knowing she was thinking back to the first few nights of their marriage, he had gotten sick and she had tried to help him get better ... and yes, he was shirtless.
Pragya left the glass on the table beside him and quickly returned to her room, leaving a smiling Abhi thanking God for the sneezes.
~ The Next Day ~
Pragya walked into the bookshop the next morning feeling annoyed, she was tired of Abhi's tactics, and she didn't want to spend the entire day listening to his pick up lines.
But to Pragya's surprise, the entire bookshop was empty. In the middle of the shop, stood a tiny table with three small red candles and a small chocolate cake that read "I Love You Pragya". Suddenly, she felt someone take her in his arms. She didn't have to look up to know it was Abhi.
"I love you Pragya." He whispered in her ear. Pragya struggled to get out of his grip, and stepped away from him.
"What is all this Abhi?" She demanded.
"It's another effort to convince you that I love you and that you need to come back with me." Abhi said.
"You don't love me! And more importantly, I don't love you! Why don't you get it?" Pragya yelled.
"Why are you being so stubborn? I know you love me Pragya!" Abhi was running out of patience.
"NO I DON'T! What makes you think I could ever love someone who married me to take revenge for his sister, who made me endure insults and pain all day, who made me lose faith in love and marriage, why would I love someone who ruined my life?" She was screaming now, tears rushing down her face.
"Why don't you understand Abhi? Whenever you are near me, all I feel is pain. Just go away! Leave me alone!" She ran out of the bookshop, leaving Abhi standing there, crushed.
He dropped the rose he had been holding behind his back and crushed it under his foot. "Maybe you are right Pragya, if we cause each other this much pain ... then maybe we don't belong together." He sighed to himself, defeated.
His determination, his intent to get her back had all been crushed by her emotional speech..."If you hate me this much Pragya...I'll leave. I won't come back...If being away from me makes you happy...your happiness is all that matters to me." Abhi cried as he spoke.
