South heros are not getting chance in Bollywood. Why?

I do think personal taste of the audience plays a part in South heros making a mark in BW.

Nargajuna of Telugu and Vikram of Tamil are both my favorites looks wise. Both dark, with mustache.

They are superstars where they are, but Nag was a failure in BW. It is not because of lack of talent or creativity. The man's family has a studio and he is a national award winner in producing and acting not to mention many more awards. He is an excellent and quite versatile actor.

I do think absolutely looks play a part in acceptance, if Kamal Hassan was not accepted 😲, it is certainly not talent.

But is it racism ? No, I don't think so. By that token will someone who looks like Ranbir or Sashi Kapoor or even Dharam Paaji and Bachchan Sr with distinct north Indian features make it in the south ? I don't think so.

ETA: Not talking about women here at all...they seem to be more accepted both ways.
