I think u all got it wrong. The real reason was mentioned in ekta's interview and the reason was that

SMRITI HAD A MISCARRIAGE. NOT CUZ OF HER SALARY SHE WAS KICKED OUT OK TAKEN OUT OF THE SHOW IT WAS BECAUSE SHE NEEDED A THREE MONTH BREAK. even ekta said that no 1 can place tulsi beside smriti herself. Smriti is tulsi and tulsi is smriti. Plus that after gautami smriti will come back. And that ekta loves smriti and will take smriti in kyunki anytime smriti wants or feels she can come back.

it's not cuz of her salary. it was cuz she had a miscarriage.
