Doubts in families after watching serials

This news is not recent. It is possible that you might have read it. But I did not find it anywhere in IF. Therefore, I am posting it here.

It is quite common in Ekta Kapoor's serials that a woman may be married to somebody, may be living with somebody and may have given birth to the child of somebody. These three somebody's need not be the same person. Children are not aware of their real parents. When they grow up, then they find that whom they considered as their parents are not the ones who gave birth to them. Or, may be one of the parents is the one who gave birth but the other parent giving birth is somebody else.

These serials have affected the thinking of people in India so much that many people have started suspecting their spouse. There have been cases of couples coming to doctors for DNA testing to find out the truth. There have been cases in which a man came to hospital because he suspected that he was not the real father of his child even though the child was NOT newly born. For so many years he did not suspect his wife. But after seeing K-serials he started suspecting his wife.
In one case, a married lady came to the doctor and she was in tears because her husband was suspecting her. She wanted DNA test to be done so that her loyalty to her husband could be proved.
In yet another case, a girl about 16 year old started complaining that she was not the child of who she considered as her parents. She complained that her features did not match any of her parents. Her parents tried to reason with her a lot but she did not listen. Now the parents had no option but to go for DNA test.

The DNA test is very costly. Still these people went for the test. All of them responded that such doubts came to their mind after seeing the TV serials. And in all of the reported cases, the suspicion was false.

actually i saw this in real life LONG before ekta even stated making serials so shes just using what happens. im a witness to it

Yes, these things have indeed been prevelant in India since a long time. Men suspecting women is a common phenomenon. But it would definitely not be wrong to say that Ekta is adding fuel to the fire.

Well, we can't blame Ekta for all the happenings in her serials but of course, she has a certain say in it. People have definitely started getting wrong ideas from these soaps and it is deteriorating the standards of our culture.

This definitely needs to stop.

It is true that doubts have always been there. But it has started surfacing more after people watched these serials. My intention behind posting this topic was not to blame Ekta at all. It was just to share an information, which I thought relevant to the forum. I believe that if the members of a family really trust each other, then these serials (which are fictitious) will not create doubts in their minds. They are having doubts. This means that th trust was never complete and the serials have only acted as catalysts.

These serials are not meant to create problems. It's only meant for entertainment. I think people who are affected/ influenced by serials are really stupid.
