CHAPTER-1.

(2nd Dec'2013)..

Dreams and reality are sometimes intermixed..

And I always live in m dream world..Except those times when she made me face the reality..Those times I felt like..

I do not know why and when I started hating her..But as far as i could remember I always did..

The little Veera always pestered me endlessly,and of course nor did I let her go unpunished at times..

But mostly she would win..

Yet when fifteen years ago she got selected and I did not,I felt rage..

More because I will not be seeing her and won't be able to lock horns with my childhood foe,than my not getting admitted..

Of course I was the least bit interested in studies or anything of the sort..But it was her I was interested in..

No,wait..!Don't think I am interested in her in the way you think I am..I have always been interested in her as she was my childhood foe and sole enemy..The girl who could irk the hell out of me,and lecture me to death..!

Isn't it a saying that you should be close to your friends,but CLOSER to your enemy..I was just that of course..Closer to her,more than anything else in my life..

The tiny package who would never leave a chance to put me down..

I missed her for fifteen years..

She did come a number of times for holidays,but I rarely saw her even then..As she was busy with some strange projects from her school,and of course her pampering mother hen of a brother would not let her alone for a second..

But yes,he would be here today for good..!

I chuckled to myself as I combed my hair looking at the mirror..

Finally the sherni will hear the sole sher's roar today..

After a long time I had a satisfied night's sleep..And it was all because of Veera,my sole enemy whom o have planned to give a blasting Punjabi welcome in Sher style..It was going to be a fantastic day,I decided with a satisfied smile..After a long long time I finally felt alive..

Baldev's heart skipped a beat as he heard the roar of the coming bike..

With racing heart,he lighted up the fire crackers..

A strange excitement in his body..As the firecrackers started exploding and the bike came closer,the excitement was at bursting level.

Bur just as she skidded and fell off for a second,he got worried..But then it vanished as jubilation took over and he strutted towards her fallen form..

She had fallen and that meant he had gained a point on her..

He could not stop smiling with glee and satisfaction..But the moment she removed her helmet and heavy locks of hair were set free,he felt a strange something in his heart,only for a second..And as she stared at him with those large angry eyes,Baldev's smile wobbled a bit,as did his heart seemed to stop..Those eyes,they-..!But then he brought his smile back the next instant..

The sherni rubbed him off the wrong way,but she could not move him so..He would not let her..He was Baldev Singh,after all..

Yet when she called out his name in anger,his heart skipped another beat..Her voice..

He smiled wider,hiding the strange sensation he had felt,as his friends came to support him.

There was just about making this girl angry,and ruffling her feathers,that he loved so much..But of course she never stopped surprising him..!

Baldev felt he was hit in the stomach when she did not respond to his goading about giving her a taste of Pind di mitti,and politely got up saying thanks to him!

WHOA!What had happened to her..?!How could the sherni be so-..

And the next instant as she had splattered the mud onto his face,he felt pissed and satisfied both at the same time..

She had reacted!She was still the same Sherni,he enjoyed locking horns with,but of course he could not take the insult she had done to him again..

He declared his revenge on her,as anger took over his body..Of course he would teach her a lesson..That is what he was made for..Getting one up on the Sherni..That is what a Sher always did,right..?

But somewhere at the back of his mind someone rejoiced the return of Pind da Sherni..

Now how could the Sher have fun and be fulfilled if a Sherni was not around..
Hai ki nai?!
