Alisha Chinai performs in Mumbai Salsa

Alisha Chinai might be the voice of many hit songs and item numbers, but now she is going to be the face of the title track of Vikram Bhatt's Mumbai Salsa. Alisha will be on screen for the first time for the film's track. The music is by Adnan Sami and the film is being directed by Manoj Tyagi.

Alisha says, "The song is the title track of the film Mumbai Salsa. And obviously the song has the salsa touch. I am having loads of fun doing the song as it is a nice fusion with a groovy rock and hip-hop feel to it. It was Vikram's idea to make a video of the song as I have this solo number. He plans to use it as a promotional video as well. I think getting the artiste to perform on a song is a novel idea and I more than welcomed this idea. This way the song gets more credibility rather than some other actress lip-syncing to the song."

Talking about the recording, Alisha says, "I recorded the song in just three days. The music is by Adnan. I also have a duet version of the song with him. I think Indian music is also going the international way, where the original artist is always part of the song."

Vikram Bhatt adds his two bits, "I thought about making a video of the song as soon as I heard the number. Alisha was also keen to do it. This kind of number definitely deserves a video. We have created a lounge bar kind of set which is called Mumbai Salsa and hence the title of the film."

omgggg...bas yehi baaki tha karne ko ....lolzzz reminds of a commercial i used to see on tv...'60 saal ke budhe ya 60 saal ke jawan'...lolzzz 😆 😆 😆

Did y'all know her real name is Sujata? She was discovered by Bappi Lahiri somewhere in the 80's, i believe. So that means she's been around for a couple of decades now...
