Beautiful one. Circumstances makes or breaks a person. He still holds the torch of goodness and sensitivity inside his heart despite adverse situations.

Sweet post, very true, I am so looking forward to Sanam Aahil track after their marriage. Sanam at least had her badi ammi and Haya who love her dearly, but for Aahil its no one, everyone is fake in his house. May be hid dadi but because of tannu she could not do anything for him. I am glad when Sanam will see real Aahil and she will fall for him. KV and Surbhi are going to rock those scenes.

ARI is an emotional fool. (Not a put down.)
S is highly practical.
I think the basic difference between ARI and S is that ARI does not allow himself to value the love of his sisters or even his 'mother'.
He, of course, feels that his 'mother' loves him, but he still has the 'little-boy-lost' persona around her. Is it because, when faced with one's 'savior', one reverts back to the helpless victim?
Psychology at play?

Either way, he has had as much love, real or feigned (though he does not know about the latter), as S has had.
Both have the responsibility of providing for the family on their shoulders, and both have received a sibling love and parental (or grandparental) love.

And this is why I believe ARI wears his heart on his sleeve.
He is emotional about his sisters, his mother, his cars, even R. But they all are dependent on him, so he discounts their affection. The adoration of various girlfriends soothe the need within him to be 'loved' for himself, even as he knows it is superficial.

S, on the other hand, understands that regardless of whether her family is dependent on her, they still love her and she basks in that love and draws strength from it.. She is close to them, shares her trials and tribulations with them (up until coming to Bhopal), and involves them in her life.

ARI, instead, chooses to simply be the provider for his family and has voluntarily kept them at arm's distance from him. Is it because they were too young for him? Or, like most emotional fools, he liked wallowing in misery? There is a bit of a martyr quality to him that I hope S nips sooner than later.
Martyrs are tedious to bear after a while. One can only feel sorry for them for so long before it becomes a trial.
"Boo-hoo, nobody loves me", is patently untrue. He knows his 'mother' loves him. So he should be confident in that, though, being emotional, a little clingy, afraid he might lose her.

The sudden feelings for S I understand:
Here is someone who does not swoon over his looks or wealth; one who is unafraid to stand up to him, and gives back as good as she gets. So this fascination with her, transmutes into love as he observes her and finds her courageous, bold, and self-reliant. Good qualities to love, indeed.
This will be the next love to which he will cling. Once he is sure of it, that is.

Logic question:
His step-mother went to prison for 12 years.
He is 30 next week.
Was he 18 when his step-mother killed his father?
That kid sure did not look 18 as she placed gun in his hand. Unless the wheels of justice grind so slowly in that country that it took at least 6 years for the step-mother to be sentenced and imprisoned. Kinda boggles the mind.
And, fo course, it ought not ot be so long. She agreed to 'accept the blame'. So no deep investigation or proof required.
Oh, well...I shouldn't ask logic questions for soaps...he he he
