Did you plan to become an actor?
I did not plan but had always wanted to be either an actor or a teacher but ended up being both. Before taking up films and serials, I acted on the stage for twelve years. Though I have not learnt acting from anywhere, I consider myself a student of GSD (God's School of Drama).

Which was your first serial?
"Lipstick" was my first serial. I played Guddi,a comic character who was the housekeeper of Negar Khan and Aly Khan.

What is your role in "Betiyaan"?
I play the wicked character of Raseelibai who is a brothel owner. I pretend to be a rajmata and conspire with Kajri (played by Mona Singh of Jassi fame) and plant her in the household to be the daughter-in-law. 😕

Which was the happiest moment in your life?
The day my sister delivered her daughter Roohi and I became an aunt.

Who are your role models?
Sanjeev Kumar and Smita Patil.

What do you do besides acting?
I teach fashion illustration and history of fashion right from the Egyptian era to students at Indian International Trade Center

How was it when you faced the camera first ?
Though my first take for "Lipstick" was okayed, I still get jitters when I face the camera.

What is the maximum number of retakes that you have given?
I gave 13 retakes when I played a newsreader in Sunando's telefilm "Jehaad". I had camera phobia that vanished only after attending a workshop by Anupam Kher.

Which are your most popular serials?
All the serials which I have done for Rose Movies were popular, like "Lipstick", "Jeet", "Remix", "India Calling" and "Twinkle Beauty Parlor", besides "Sindoor Tere Naam Ki".

Ok let me clear the confusion 😛 ...The role of Kajri in the serial Betiyan is played by an actress whose real name is Jassi 😃 ..so mayb the the person who wrote the article got confused and thought that she is mona of jassi fame 😊

yup her name is jasveer kaur..and ppl call her Jassi too..therefore the confusion😆.. relax blyty..mona dint do Betiyaan😆
